Typically I am all good for suspending disbelief. But are they FUCKING SERIOUS? The premise of a Dwarf Star "HITTING" the moon is so beyond preposterous that it is silly. The star nearest to us is the Sun...and beyond that the nearest star is MILLIONS of miles away. Add to the fact that stars are not comets or asteroids in that they don't go rogue and move, or explode and fragment into solid pices and you have a tale of complete and utter bullshit/ There is in no way any science to this science fiction. It's just complete bullshit. Seriously...who gave the go ahead for this, because it is an astronomical possibility. I know, I took an astronomy class. I didn't pay attention at all. I barely remember a thing. But I know DAMN well that what they described happening...just the simple premise alone...is not even remotely feasible. And I am a big fan of SciFi. |

The space shuttle travels a MILLION miles in about 60 hours while in orbit. I think you mean TRILLIONS Nearest star: Proxima Centauri, 4.2 light years from Earth, or around 25 trillion miles (yeah, I googled). I agree the premise is a bit silly. You'd think we'd see it coming a trillion miles away and would have a few thousand years to prepare countermeasures. |

I guess "real" sci-fi is left to NBC and their Sci Fi Channel wing... when they're not making low-budget scifi made-for-tv-movies.... and concentrates more on the FIction than science (it's too much $$ to make anything like brane-theory or string-theory work in a practical "real world" scenario) I'll check out an early review of this most likely... see what state of clothing Nat has, if she has any naughty scenes with Harm from JAG (you know, the typical.. omg we're gonna die let's have sex)... not care she's in a suit the whole movie and still watch it at least once. It's for those late-night insomnia sessions where you have to watch tv because you can't go to bed and your eyes bleed from other working for the last 12 hours. |
