What's up with the file size? Is this a longer than usual episode or just
better quality rip?

I'm not quite sure on the release size myself. Below is a link to the 2007
release rules:

They state the following about release sizing:

- Shows 18:00-23:59 shall be 175MB
- Shows 24:00-34:59 shall be 233MB
- Shows 35:00-52:59 shall be 350MB
- Shows 53:00-59:59 shall be 440MB
- Shows 60:00-64:59 shall be 525MB
- Shows 65:00-95:00 Shall be 700MB

*NOTE: Shows 60:00-64:59 may be sized at either 525 or 700MB at the
capper's discretion based on show framerate and content.


All of this seasons episodes of The Tudors (sans the seldom capped ending
credits) are between 56 and 60 minutes. Following scene release rules they
should all be 440 MB. Episode 3 of this season was the shortest and only a
couple minutes into the 440 MB rule range, so I believe the rules were "bent"
to allow it as a 350 MB release. All the other episodes thus far should have
been 440 MB but have been 550 MB. This has also held true for other recent
pay cable TV show rips (i.e. The L Word's 2nd to last ep this season - check
it out at 550 MB; the last episode was over 65 minutes so it was capped to 700
MB). I can only assume there has been some sort of "2008 revision" to the
scene's TV capping rules for program length to make the 350 MB files increase
in time range to something more like 56 minutes and programs between 56 and 65
minutes are 550 MB. Programs over that are still 700 MB up to 95 minutes.

Can someone/anyone/one of the sysops (aydin1954, SantaBJ or NovaKing) confirm
or explain the file sizing. I'm just an overly curious community member who
wants to understand.
