This has been propered. Probably for interlacing like the simpsons was, but i
didnt really notice anything wrong.

Get proper. This is an old episode
(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_a_Stan_Loves_a_Woman) that aired last year

That is untrue. This torrent is not the episode you linked - it is the correct
episode for tonight.
Further, I didn't see anything wrong with it at all.

The interlacing issue is a big problem. A lot of American Dad episodes on EZTV
have that wavy line effect, kind of like watching that Dr Katz show. All you
people saying there is nothing wrong must be blind, or watching it on a 10 inch CRT.

I watch it on a 2.5 inch LCD and it looks alright. If i could afford a 40 inch
plasma I wouldn't be downloading this stuff off the net. Or watching it at all
for that matter. Nevertheless, if I had more time I would've downloaded the proper.
The fact is, if they really wanted people to get propers, they should take the
nuked releases off the site.

why should anyone take anything from any site? You still have the option to
download the clearly marked proper. The most one should ask for should be a
site-option like

'[ ] don't show nuked releases', or
'[ ] if proper available, only show proper' or

something like that I rechecked the encode, yeah there are some
quality-problems. It's not an old ep either. Its a-ok for one time watching, i
did not notice anything the first time. Not for archiving though.

E7 pulled this same shit last week with the entire FOX Sunday animation block.
The originals get NUKED for interlace/blending??? WTF.

BTW 20/10 vision and a Sony 52" 1080P XBR3 LCD TV, and frankly I can't tell
between the two. The only time I see a problem with "waviness" is with Family
Guy episodes, And with that both original and "proper" looked the same fucking
way.

This is much ado about nothing......

EZTV rules!!!

I'm not surprised. Fancy tech like that probably has motion compensation and/or
deinterlacing in hardware. It's pretty noticable on a 15" CRT when you're
sitting right in front of it, which is what a majority of us probably use.

But that's all beside the point, the people at doom9 have come up with some neat
scripts to fix this once and for all, so lets hope the scene is paying attention
there

Not to mention that many new codecs eg. FFDShow, offer deinterlacing as a
built in function.

yeah, it's sad to see so many new family guy episodes suffer this fate.

as far as i can tell, american.dad.s03e01.pdtv-xor is the only episode from
season 3 of american dad that has the bad interlace. i have the rest from the
season, propered if possible, and its not very noticable...

on the other hand, many episodes from this season of family guy have looked
terrible, and still, propered when possible:

Family.Guy.S06E08.PDTV.XviD-0TV.avi
Family.Guy.S06E09.PDTV.XviD-XOR.avi
Family.Guy.S06E10.PDTV.XviD-XOR.avi
Family.Guy.S06E11.PDTV.XviD-XOR.avi
Family.Guy.S06E12.PROPER.PDTV.XviD-E7.avi

strangely enough, even the hr.pdtv.x264-***.mkv releases of the episodes noted
above have interlace problems, but sometimes a perfect pdtv.xvid-***.avi will be
accompanied by another bad hr.pdtv.x264-***.mkv, such as these:

family.guy.s06e06.hr.pdtv.x264-***.mkv <bad
family.guy.s06e06.pdtv.xvid-lol.avi <good
ipv6 ready
