This is better than Christmas. I've made it pretty obvious here that I HATE the
direction Doctor Who has taken, and Russel T. Davies can go to hell for it.
I've probably also made it pretty obvious that I LOVE Moffat written episodes.
So Moffat being in charge of the show...damn, Doctor Who is gonna be AWESOME
again. As awesome as it was first season.

You gotta admit ... Blink was the best episode of Season 3 BY FAR. Moffat wrote
it. Do you want your mummy? Are you "The Empty Child"? Go ask Moffat - he
wrote it. Dude is awesome and he is going to make Doctor Who the quality FAMILY
entertainment it once was back in Season 1 in 2005, not the child-orientated
bull we've been seeing since 2006.

As I said - it's so exciting I think I just peed a little.

Yes its good news and will probably improve the show but saying its saved Doctor
who is utter crap, if it was not for RTD you would not have this post to post.

He brought the show back to life he did not murder it

Report the news. Don't add your opinion in the middle of it and break the report.
I don't care what you think there.
I never thought any of the whole seasons were bad.
A handful of episodes were lackluster.
The worst episode they could have done without was the support group episode that
contained 10% Dr Who.

Its the peanut gallery snotty commentary that turns this from an interesting, if
unremarkable news posting, into a bad whining fanboy post.

We are all certainly happy that you can at least tell when you've peed yourself
a little, but that information as well as your personal opinions about the
relative quality or lack thereof of any particular show have absolutely no place
in the news postings.

"Russell T Davies is to step down as executive producer of Doctor Who, the BBC
has announced."

Thank God.

It's about fucking time. Maybe now Doctor Who won't be riddled with retarded
faggotry (on multiple levels).

Hate to do a "me too" post, but I absolutely agree.

I read the TV news section for new information about TV shows I like, not to
read some ass hat's opinion on one of my favorite shows.

Davies gone? Well, whatya know, prayers do sometimes get answered. lol

Seriously, what more damning evidence did I need than to notice that, while
watching the "new" Doctor Who, I was continuously wishing that Doctor Who would
come back on the air (in other words, despite the fact that it was supposed to
be DW we were seeing, it just wasn't; merely some other scifi show that used
some of the same props and names).

New Doctor Who = Galactica 1980. Pretend it never happened and cross your
fingers for a new series to pick up where the original left off (and although
the '96 movie script was awful, I'm quite enamored with McGann, so would love
to see a new series begin with him in the lead and effectively pick up after
the current "official" Big Finish audios).

At any rate, this is incredibly good news indeed.

I might be wrong here but didn't the Empty Child ep introduce Captain Jack?
And as far as I can remember he was the first real gay element to the show.
Though I do admit, he wasn't anywhere near as gay as he is in Torchwood.

(I like Torchwood though)

LOL! I know the feeling. His eps are some of my favorites, especially
Blink--easily the best ep I've ever seen.

Hee! Nice catch. *must resist the urge to point and laugh at Futt-Bucker now*

I can't wait to see if he takes the gayness even further (a big part of me hopes
he does just to throw it back in the faces of all those who think that RTD
"ruined" DW with Teh Gayness).

(And seriously, one of these days it is not going to matter who is screwing
who/what on any show unless the relationship has something to do with the actual
plot.)

This is incredibly awesome. Only two years until I can start watching the show
again.

Saying RTD ran Who into the ground isn't opinion. It's fact, unless you're
actually retarded.

And why would Moffat make the show more gay? RTD is gay, Moffat isn't.

Whoever posted this is a fucking idiot, we don't need your shitty amateur
opinion in the middle of the news. RTD saved Doctor Who, he breathed new life in
to a much beloved series and opened it up to a whole new legion of fans. I liked
Dr. Who pre 9th doctor, now i LOVE IT.

And I don't see what RTD's sexuality has to fucking do with Dr. Who, if you're a
homophobic git please go hang yourself, everyone knows homophobes are just
scared to admit they might be a little bit gay.

Moffat is a terrific writer and I enjoyed some of his episodes most of all but
RTD is still a decent writer and he really did a great job of reinventing Dr.
Who and you should all be ashamed for thinking otherwise. Please DIAF.

C'mon, the news reporter people always put their opinions in their reports,
that's what makes this site cool!

OMG! RTD is gone! GONE! Even better, the awesome Mr Moffat is replacing him! OMG!!

This news has reduced me to saying OMG a lot, that's how great it is!
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Okay, let's set a few things straight. Yes, RTD did bring the show back. And
I'll be completely honest - he did an AWESOME job during the first season and
I respected him for that and thank him for it. But at the start of season
two, he started to drive it into the ground. And I mean HARD. Seasons 2-4 he
has murdered the show, and it's reputation is in tatters. He says the old
series ended up being a complete joke? He needs to take a look at what he's
turned this series in because there are quite a few people who refuse to watch
this rubbish. I only watch it cos I hate not watching every single episode of
every single TV show I watch. If I wasn't like that, I would not be watching
this unless Moffat's name was in the opening credits.

As for putting my opinion in the news article ... puh-lease, each to his own.
Other people do it, I've done it, and you're just mad because you don't agree
with my opinion. Everyone is free to have and express an opinion as long as
it doesn't piss one of the groups off. I'm not being racist, sexist or
homophobic - I'm being RTDist which isn't anything to worry about.

RE: Gayness... I don't mind it to some extent. Captain Jack in the first
season was fine, he was funny, and I love his character. Torchwood really
took him too far, but come on - Torchwood was just a gay orgy, everyone had
sex with someone of the same gender in the first season. But during Doctor
Who, we don't want it shoved in our faces. Put it in there, yes, but don't
make it the center of attention PLEASE.

Moffat will save this show. Because if RTD kept running it, it'd eventually
need scheduling at 5pm for the toddlers, with Moffat's episode having to be
aired at 8 because they are actually grown up.

Thanks to all these people who agree with me. You can call us retards, but
there's a HELL OF A LOT of us Doctor Who haters out there who realize this
show SUCKS ass now:
