Between some fictional superior being and Darwin, it's the scientist that has my
vote....

How can you all say that? Darwinism is a joke. You all are going to go to Hell
for not accepting Jesus Christ as your one true and loving lord. These
scientists just make all this up. All their "proof" has been discredited many
times over. Have faith in the lord and you will spend eternity in his grace.

Okay... whatever. I'm actually an Atheist and a firm believer in Darwinism. I
was trying to do my best Holy Roller impression but it probably sucked. This
show looks a little interesting.

A Question?

Why are the Christian fundamentalists so enamoured of Darwinian Economics?

'Darwinism' is a misnomer these days. He kicked off a great theory and that was
the 'Theory of Evolution'. While Darwin was quite brilliant, his theory did have
some flaws and gaps in it.

HOWEVER, hundreds of thousands of scholars and scientists for more than 100
years have been testing, refining and researching the theory, and these days
it's looking pretty good. So put simply - sure, Darwin was wrong about some
things, and it was mainly because he didn't have the tools or resources that we
have today.

It's always the same isn't it? Certain people always seem to assume that the
originator of a theory is the ultimate authority.

Have you folks checked out Richard Dawkins work? Good Stuff.

It deeply saddens me that there is still a political battle over
creationism/evolution. With all the evidence/proof these days, the argument
should be settled. In Cobb county GA (where I unfortunately lived for a short
while) in 2002 the xtian cultists voted to put a warning label in Campbell's
Biology textbook saying evolution is not a fact and creationism deserves equal
consideration.

To quote my favorite band: "majority rule don't work in mental institutions"

Okay, I think I love this programme just a little bit. Its by far the best,
practically forensic, deconstruction of the objections creationists have
raised to evolution I've yet seen. Go science!

Its more likely that Darwin was right, than the bible written 600 years after
the event by religious nut jobs! you would be lucky if 1 in ten stories in the
bible are even close to how they were told in the first place.whatever gospels
they didn't like they left out I would rather believe in science! and live and
let live! much better than I have the one true god and if you don't believe in
him your damned.

I see nothing wrong with worshipping Gods or a God as long as you don't try to
pass off faith as science. I'm Jewish and worship only one god but recognize the
possibility that others might exist. ... That's my irrational faith.

Science proves that natural selection through adaptation exists and occurs
through time. That's a scientific fact. My BS is in Biology with a concentration
in Cellular Biology. (anyone who says Evolution is "just a theory" has no idea
what a theory means in science)

Just because Evolution occurs doesn't mean that Gods don't exist, just that we
didn't magically appear overnight. Perhaps the Gods use evolution to create
intelligent beings, who knows?

You'd think in the decades that they've been spouting the same regurgitated
nonsense, that someone would have worked out the difference between a theory and
a hypothesis, or even a postulation (if your happy with assumptions).

Except, of course, dealing with Evolution as an explanation, rather than
representing it as some sort of abstract concept, doesn't allow for quite as
much wiggle room.

Grammatically poor as well. Like saying the thing at the end of your arm is
'just a hand'. An explanation is precisely that nothing more, nothing
less.

Or maybe it was the fairies? And why do you assume that intelligent beings are
the goal of evolution? We are merely the product of continuous process, makings
of a blind watchmaker. I too recommend getting familiar with Dawkins' work.

Occam's razor disposes of all the supernatural and unnecessaries that you still
hold on for personal emotional reasons. You should wake up and embrace the
beauty of the universe as it is, without any supernatural nannying. This is the
only chance we get, do not waste it! There
is not going to be a second chance. We are lucky to be alive.

Huh?

You might want to edit in whatever point you were trying to make there, pal.

EDIT: There you go.
