Weird, for some reason this rip has like double the usual audio bit rate, which
pulls a nice chunk of bit rate out of the video, so it's going to sound nice,
but looks rougher than usual.

I'm just hoping for a 720p HQ rip later

I found 720p rips for episode one of Bonekickers and The Cleaner, but none
afterwards.

So I got Eureka S03E01 in 720p last week, and am REALLY hoping that 720p rips
continue for the entire series

Why do they waste such a massive budget - and some good sci-fi ideas - on a
show with disnified 2-dimensional characters and a formula more predictable
than Columbo?

Is it aimed at 6-year olds?

Extremely annoying show.

yeah it looks that way but when you have programs look closer at the audio, its
actually just the normal 128k
so they must of been screwing with the audio headers on thier mp3 file for some
reason (generally a sign of hiding something)

I'm not sure what you use to check files, but GSpot is rarely wrong, 269mb of
video(77%), 79.5mb of audio(23%), video bitrate 'was' 868kbs.
As a comparison episode one was 309mb video(89%), 39.6mb audio(11%), video
bitrate was 1000kbs (just about all good rips try to get that or above).

Generally you really want to keep video bit rates above 1000kbs, stuff below
900kbs starts looking very rough, it's lucky the episode was brightly lit,
almost no dark scenes, it meant the low bit rate was watchable, but by no means
great.

I so miss HR rips, but it looks like the scene has dumped them, not great for
people like me, who have highly expensive internet with low quota, and
primarily equipment like an Xbox to view rips, which won't do the true HD stuff.

As for the show, it's easy enough to bag, the show peaked in season one, so far
2 and 3 have not lived up to it, so yeah that budget for it hurts, they need to
pick up the quality again, put more substance into it, more depth to the plots,
but I still enjoy it enough to keep watching.

well gspot is not flawless. this isn't the first time somebody messed with their
audio to give different readings in gspot. granted last time was an accident but
the groups audio was reading 32k in gspot when it was 128k
i used avinaptic after gspot to do a DRF analysis which also scans everything
like audio and it came out with 128k. and also demuxing the audio gives you a
file size around ~40mb which for a 43min show is about 128kbps (just like
that rip people thought had 32k audio).

keeping that in mind, video bitrates appear normal around 990k so blame any
quality complaints on 0tv's encoding (which now at least includes b frames so
that's progress)
