Alan Ball, creator of Six Feet Under, returns to HBO with a new series based on
the novel series Southern Vampire by Charlaine Harris. The series follows Sookie
Stackhouse, a telepathic barmaid who finds comfort in the company of vampires
since they have no brainwave activity for her to read. She and her brother Jason
were raised by her grandmother after losing their parents in a flood and she
tries to keep her telepathic ability a secret. Thanks largely in part to the
creation of a Japanese-made synthetic blood called True Blood (where the series
takes it name) vampires have made their existence known to the world. Sookie
works at the bar 'Merlotte's' which is owned and operated by her boss Sam
Merlotte who has a secret of his own.

Yep they did.
This show is going to be a cult hit like Showtime's Dexter. HBO now has a show
that can match Showtime's programs.
But showtime is still in the lead. With shows like Dexter, Weeds,
Californication, Tudors

The preair had missing scenes, so that's at least 1 difference (just watching
the preair again at the moment - been awhile)

Looking forward to the rest of the episodes.

Please tell me they changed the accent too from the repair, I am from Louisiana
and the accent they had sounded more like inbred Texas type accent not
Louisiana, botched it on the repair as far as that goes, I laughed every time
they talked it was like some sick joke, I hope this round they at least got the
accents right and did some studying, gonna check out what the revision looks
like I hope it is revamped!

Haha revamped that was a fantastic pun!

I really enjoyed this ep, and it is good to finally some some new shows with
promise that aren't just another crime or medical drama.

accent is not too real, so that non americans can easily understand it. or
americans not from louisiana for that matter ;p

I hope its VERY different from the preair! The preair was by far the worst
vampire show I have ever seen. Plus that accent alone made it almost unwatchable.
