Zeljko Ivanek is brilliant in Damages, well deserved.

Totally agree. I don't really like Mad Men.

I'm glad 30 Rock/Tina Fey/Alec Baldwin won though.

i know its not a popularity contest but if they want people to care about the
emmys they cant give them to shows that are watched by only 1-2 million people ,
the ratings show that fact.

So basically you're saying that the Emmy voters should say: Screw our opinions,
let's just give the Emmys to the most popular shows/cast members so people like
us and actually watch the Emmys...

The network that airs the Emmys (ABC, this year) is the only one that cares
about the ratings of the award show... The Academy doesn't give a shit - Mad
Men, Breaking Bad and 30 Rock are all shows that deserved to win. You can't
possibly compare the talents of Michael C. Hall, Bryan Cranston and Jon Hamm to
Michael Emerson. That's like saying Prison Break should've won Best Drama. I'm
not saying Emerson's a bad actor (I'm a big fan of Lost, as a matter of fact),
he deserved a NOMINATION, but a win? No.

And it makes me sick when people say Heroes or Supernatural got snubbed... :/
Just because you're a fan of the show and it has high ratings doesn't mean it's
Emmy material.

no, but if no one will screen the Emmy show and no one cares (ie public) who
wins then the award will fade into obscurity.

Award shows are very much popularity contests! I will always remember a
Dennis Leary interview(from Leno maybe?) when he talked about his award
choices. First thing he did was go through and check the ones his friends were
part of.
