That is because ABC can't cancel the show, it is produced by CTV. ABC just has the rights to air it in the USA, and all they can do is stop showing the episodes, they can't stop production. |

I hope the speculation/rumours of demise are unfounded. It is (for me) a surprisingly good show. When it appeared was quite a relief from the excesses of Entourage which in so many ways seem to have symbolized and typified the self indulgent and rights of self entitlement of the US. Here we have a show where the character's lives are one of sacrifice, hard work, dedication to science, national purpose, a purpose beyond themselves, all values that no longer seem central to the US and which once made it a great nation. |

it has potential, but by gee, it's slow start nearly made me loose interest. They need to step it up or make it interesting. |

Dang, I really like this one. Keeping crossed everything that I can, hoping they won't cancel it after all. Why, yes, I do indeed like fighting/hoping for lost causes. |

ABC are not the only ones with the finger on the cancel button the show is co-produced by the BBC, Fox Television Studios, and Omni Film Productions in association with Canadian broadcasters CTV Television Network, SPACE, and German broadcaster ProSieben. (Wikipedia) I am guessing if ABC never aired the final epsiodes we would get them from one of the other broadcasters, and any decision on a second season would come from all the partners. CTV are still due to air the next episode on 18th as scheduled. |

Despite really liking it and adoring the cast, I know it's not a crowd pleaser - what's worse, it's not even close to being something the mouth breathers can like. I'll really miss it, it's smart and has a very nice human focus, not to mention that the German chick is incredibly HOT in a weird way. Thanks for the fun Defying Gravity, I'll remember you fondly like I remember Firefly. |

No way, we gotta admit it, science-fiction is dead. All we can do is pray... :-( Anyway, this grey's anatomy comparison... I still can't believe MY Laura Harris said that. She caaaan't. :-( :-( :-( Scr*w ABC and who's decided to kill another good show. How not to quote this from the other news:

I sincerely hope they proceed with the show. It is very watchable for SciFi fans and the girlfriend likes it for the human relationships. IMO its one of the best shows out there. Even more important we do not have a clear idea of what BETA is and where it came from. |

This is a terrific, terrific show: thoughtful, moody, smart, reflective, and, with the slow build up, gripping. Even if ABC drops it I hope CTV continues to film new episodes so we can d/l them here. Among the very best things on TV; breathing some of the same air as Battlestar Gallactica. |

If you want Sci-Fi wait for Caprica or SGU or Virtuality (if it ever makes it) I keep trying Defying but it is soo slow and female oriented. Will miss Christina Cox & Laura Harris, don't see them enough. |

female oriented? well, maybe... i'm not sure. But I just like how the story's build, and also the 'practical' things... space, spaceships, how the gravity's made... I'm that kinda guy, I like science, science-fiction, and I like knowing how stuff's made... engines,gears... LOL I'll have to watch Caprice soon or later. Virtuality was one of the best pilot ever seen, but I guess it's just too weird for common people... And no more rapes please, that was really brutal to see. SG just bores me. we all want more laura harris shows :-P |
