I didn't find what I did watch of the special very funny at all. I remember seeing some of the original shows being shown back in late 80s or so and there were much funnier (relatively) parts than what I saw in the recent special. |

It was so smegging bad it could have been a scifi channel production. Tragic as the show started out so well. |

Despite the issues surrounding Back to Earth, I would like to think they worked out the old kinks and are coming back to their original humor. I can't wait! |

One of the worst shows EVER created - second only to Dr Who. The Brits just can't do sci-fi - it all seems so "studio-set-ish" like original Star Trek episodes. The Brits are so easy to please, remember - this is the country where The Wombles topped the music charts !! If you don't think I know what I am talking about - I was born there. With a steady diet of Dr. Who, The Wombles & Red Dwarf, is there any wonder the country developed into a Soccer-thug haven. |

Still bitter about the deporation eh? Don't like Uk television, well here's the thing, you don't have to watch it. That shiny thing with the buttons is called a remote control, you can change the channel with it, i'll explain what the symbols on the buttons mean some other time... |

@canadaguy, u yanks/canadians have no room to talk about bad comedy, half ur shows are "im just going over to the fridge", hahahahaha, how the freck is that funny ? Red dwarf is a cult tv show and by far the best sci-fi/comedy tv show ever made, I enjoyed back to earth, i didnt love it but i enjoyed it, i cant wait for series 10. And if u dont like red dwarf at all why even comment on this news ? epic fail - canadanumptyguy1959 (probably the last year he got laid) |

I've just come back from living in the states for a few years and one thing I learned over there is that they don't do understatement and everything is judged on face value. So things like plot and story take a back seat to things like CGI. American humor is like a pie in the face, while British humour sneaks up behind you and pulls away the rug, it's easy to miss but much more rewarding when it lands. I had been told that Canadians where more like the British, but I guess that generalisation is just that. |

Red Drarf was awesome (and so is Dr Who). Its always a risk to revive something years after the fact. But I really look forward to the new series. British humour is usually served rather dry and from a dead pan. I think that Americans tend to think we're being serious, so they miss it. |
