You can do god based stuff without being offensive like Arthur C. Clarke's "Rama" series. We don't
need ignorant people trying to shove religion down our throats. Especially when any intelligent
person knows religion is just ancient fairy tales used to brainwash an ignorant populous into
submission to a "higher power" A.K.A. churches and government.

Other than that it was OK but I'm sure they will ruin it with their religious zealotry. They're more
interested in spreading non-sense than just telling a good story. Next I expect to see a
"documentary" about how Darwin was actually the spawn of Satan.

if you had watched the origional V then you would know there was religoius overtones in that at the
beginning also

wanted to see this show since thy announce they will make it
but
got very disappointed
it was like independence day and earth final conflict
not that much new than what was already out there

Yeah, I agree. A show from the 80's obviously ripped off movies from the past few years.

yes well i admit it was alot like independance day and so but what the problem seriously ?
i like independance day, and other ufo ect movie and it's sc-fi enought

i mean i'd like there where like more more show i could watch about same subject, but there is only
one or two and the episode don't go as i like usually but then there is a new tv show and it's
alover a new story..

and i'd like to see you make a "coming in peace invasion" of the aliens on earth ... i think it
would be alot like this
about "many" character, we don't get bored with one, just quick sequence to show that all is at the
same time, and to show that they will lead the show
i think that for a "first" episode it could have been allot worse, at least now we know what's going
on, all character are in place, they can start the real show ( next episode tho ) ...

Actually thought it was quite a promising start for this show as they didn't just play it by the numbers and
do a straight remake of the original series. This looks like its going to be more action based which should
be good as far as ratings go (if not for quality entertainment).
I did enjoy the suspense of the original, and seeing as it was an almost uncovered genre in TV back then,
everything was shocking and new to most people that didn't read sci-fi books.
For some reason towards the end I really expected Billy Campbell to pop up and start doing some Jordan
Collier 4400 style shenanigans.. Maybe it was the whole religious thing.. Or just having Joel Gretsch in it..

Looking forward to the next one anyway..

Another BSG/SGU style failure
BSG from the 70's was great then they released the '05 series and was a step backwards.
SG1/Atlantis were also great then they released thsi mess they call SGU

Now they have done it with an absolute classic show.

If they thought well we can do it better cause we have better special effects abilities now than
they had back then, then they failed at that because

1/ Why now do the transport ships (the little one that landed on the helipad) are they using jet
engines and yet back in the 80's they were... for use of proper terminology .... anti-gravity engines.

2/ Millions of people are standing in the streets after seeing an alien space craft hovering over
them they all start clapping. Rubbish, humans would not respond in that manner.

3/ How many days did they fit into 40 minutes. At least 2 week with no indication of elapsed time.
The only indication was all of a sudden there are stalls selling items about the visitors

4/ They have changed the meaning of V. V, if anyone remembers, stood for Victory and was started by
a bunch of kids spray painting a poster with a red V, when an elderly Jewish gentleman came along
and spoke to them done the V and said it stands for Victory. Now it stands for Visitors and was
started by the Visitors and symbolizes friendship and more. WTF.... no

5/ In the original no one know really why they were here until late in the show it was revealed they
were after the water. Now they announce they want the water up front. Which now leads to 6

6/ The Visitors have been here on the planet for years working in places like the FBI.... How did he
get a job at the FBI. How did he get through the medicals and not get found out.... bogus.

All they have done is tried to blend an old show with a new cop show imo. Sorry but this should be
called a re-interpretation of the original not a remake imo. Just watching this was making me angry
for what they have to the popularity, fan base, reputation and notoriety what the original V so
deservedly receives to this day. It's an insult to the true fans of the original V, just like the
new BSG and SGU. Oh yeah the new motherships look like they have been thrown together with scrap
metal and the design is based on a child's failed attempt at a pottery ashtray from school.

Come on folks at TV lets come up with something original, something new and fresh not two or more
shows thrown together and say it's great.

Just my opinion.

this i like, introduced the 5th column straight away, ties current world events into the
show to give it more relevance, and if that pisses you off, just don't watch it, after all , they
had to modernise it, at least it wasn't a 'drama ' fest like BSG ,

as even emphasised by the two kids in the actual episode when comparing it to independance
day opening scenes, the same can be said for any alien invasion show/movie over the last 30 years,
it's just i find it funny that people are comparing it to shows that came 13 years after the
original V miniseries
