Arguably the best new show on TV anywhere in 2009. The time travel episode definitely WAS the best
episode of anything all year - absolutely brilliantly clever. Ive watched sci-fi for 40 years and it
was right up there with the best.

So sad there are 6 episodes of this - while something like Heroes (that once was so good) now
splutter along mindlessly wasting millions and millions of dollars trying to drag our 20 plus hours.

While I liked this show, I wouldn't go that far. For me, the best episode of any show all year was
the season 1 finale of FRINGE.

That's one reason they're smart to keep it to 6 episodes. If they had to fill out 22 hours, the brilliant writing would be
watered down and the whole show would suffer. We wouldn't all be raving about Misfits if it was 22 episodes long. No
disrespect intended to the creators (clearly they're great!), but if this had been 22 episodes long in the first season, it
wouldn't have been so snappy and it would've lost its shine well before the finale.

That being said, I too am going to have a tough time waiting a full year for the second season!!

It is a show that definitely could benefit from a 13 episode season, though. I agree with you wholeheartedly
about the entire 22 to 25 episode thing that a lot of American shows get bumbed down with. However, I
think they could get with 13 eps of Misfits, without losing the charm, wit and sharp writing/acting/directing
that make it special.

Glad to know that series two has been confirmed, though. Usually anything on TV that I like as much as I
liked this show (Arrested Development, Firefly, Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies, etc.), has big
trouble staying on the air. So any more of this we can get, is good news indeed . . . even if I have to wait
an entire year to get it. I feel the same way about Being Human. It's a long, hard wait for series two, but I
know it will savor every last minute of every last episode, when it finally broadcasts.

BTW, in case anyone wanted it, the scene who originally uploaded episode six of Misfits, also uploaded a
720p version of the same episode this morning. I meant to post that earlier, but got bogged down with
work today. I've watched it already, and it looks fantastic in 720p, and you should be able to find it on
several sites by now. Just do a search for misfits.s01e06.720p.hdtv.x264-bia at your favorite torrent
site, and it should take you right to the link. I found it at BTJunkie, in case you can't find it at your favorite
site. There are still plenty of seeds on this, over 130 as of typing this. So if you are interested, git it while
it's hot, and hope they upload HD versions of episodes 1 - 5 in the coming days.

Nice intelligent posts people!

I struggled with Fringe after the pilot in Season 1 for several episodes, then it settled down and
became steady (which I'd hoped for) and then got stronger and stronger as the characters developed.
The finale with the twin towers was awesome, and this season has done incredibly well maintaining
(mostly) the intrigue and great character development. So I would certainly put the S1 finale right
up there for this year, and indeed Fringe would be slapping around Misfits in my mind for top SF show.

S2 of Being Human starts soon - that will help fill the void, with the doctor of course chiming in
as always over Christmas (and looking forward to Matt Smith's take on him next year.)

Misfits gets my vote because of the writing, the characters, their development, the sci-fi is either
sound or brilliant once in place (ok the lightning was a means to an end but that's forgiven - the
storm itself was hellishly well done and the structuring of everything is almost faultless), the
music is perfect (Joy Division was utterly inspired) and every character held their own; their own
space, their own meaning, their own perceptions of events and their take on them, and even their own
back story, not to mention their own ethnicity and accents. It really should have been one hell of a
jumbled mess, but it wasn't. And after a second viewing it holds up just as well. And that for me is
very rare these days.

So that's my own justification anyway - make of it what you will.

I kinda want to disagree on that one point about getting diluted. The problem is IMO is that money
and network causes the problem with show's creativity like with Heroes. the first two seasons were
great, but then they "Jump the Motherfucking shark " after they saved the cheerleader and had Peter
lose his powers at the end to his dad. Where as shows like Babylon 5 where the writer has the say
and not the networks thats makes a difference.

but money is the reason why these shows get such a short lifespan I do agree 13 or 14 episodes would be
a proper telling.

p.s.

I originally type the word "motherfreakin" and it was highlighted as an incorrect word and a list of
proper words was given to me to chose from, and the first word on the list is what I chose.

OK you all type in the word "motherfreakin " and see whats pops up.

I use Firefox
ipv6 ready
