Here\'s what wikipedia says: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undercover_Boss Undercover Boss is a television series on CBS produced by Studio Lambert. Each week the boss of a major corporation works incognito as an entry-level worker in his/her own company to find out how it really works and identify some of the unsung heroes among the workers. The first episode featured President and CEO of Waste Management, Inc., Larry O\'Donnell and premiered on February 7, 2010 after Super Bowl XLIV. It is based on the 2009 Channel 4 series of the same name after CBS acquired the American rights in the same year The show received mixed reviews. It got a 59 out of 100 score on Metacritic. The Chicago Times wrote a positive review saying, \"The personalities are so appealing, and the jobs are so humbling, that this would have been a great one-shot documentary. Can they keep up the impact week after week? Or will we suffer from empathy fatigue sooner rather than later?\", while the Washington Post said in a negative view, \"What we get instead is a hollow catharsis for a nation already strung out on the futility of resenting those who occupy CEO suites.\" < For what it\'s worth, the british version was quite entertaining at times, so I\'ll definitly give it a try, just to compare how the US version turned out |

I hate to say, but it praying on "wishful thinking". First of all you can't see "real people" if a camera follows you around. It does appeal to that, "for god sake I wish he tried to do that"... Yeah we all wish it could happen, maybe they would understand what everyday person is going thru (because they made a policy) Anyways... IMO... it is soooo fake. I didn't believe any of the characters on the show,(their fake surprised faces). You wanna get the truth, go undercover... WITH REAL HIDDEN CAMERA... ( I should make a show of my own) I mean the real hidden camera, as in..."nobody knows a person, and no one knows what their purpose is"... I've seen some real journalistic work... and this isn't it. ( I should say "ain't" would have sounded much better) |

Oh BTW... she goes and invites a total stranger into her home...ohhhhh..... pleeeeaaaasse.... you couldn't get more "scripted" then that. I may watch a next episode, just to see what some of the guys work looks like, but I don't think I can take this much fakery for long Oh, and a question... Do you guys think it can have a big impact on the population? I mean... how many stupids will buy into this propaganda (as my previous poster said) Do you think that, this is the way the BIG guys will "calm the storm"" of underpaid, mistreated employees ? |
