Great series with lots of new talent - especially the guy that played Snafu.

Not as tightly woven as Band of Brothers but Tom Hanks said so a while back - following Easy Company
was easy (hehe) because of Ambrose's book but the war in the Pacific was a different story
altogether. I'm sure this series will stand the test of time like Band of Brothers already has.

I'll be sure to read With the Old Breed and Helmet For My Pillow.

So did I. Too sort of scattered around. Not enough focus on some characters. The character here is the
war... hardly engaging!

I really liked the mini series and thought this one was much more depressing than Band of Brothers.
I'd say Band of Brothers definitely edges this one out but its really hard to compare the two. Very
different characters and storytelling.

Agreed - so much harder to relate to the characters. B of B gave you a much better understanding of
the characters and their background - and there were alot more significant characters in B of B. The
story in B of B was also alot less segmented.
