Is this worth watching? Any input would be great, I havnt really got the bandwidth to waste on

It was ok.. looks of good setup personally i wasnt crazy about True Blood / Vampire Diaries from the
pilot those grew on me over time, The Gates seems like it could go the same way, was way better than
Scoundrels at least. and Rhona Mitra is the lead
right now it's not a bad show but nothing amazing either

Think it's trying to copy true blood a bit too much... vampires and ware wolfs????

Anyway, i'll give it a go.... there's nothng much on at the moment.

Too early to tell if this will be good or stupid, there is a bit too much vampire/werewolf stuff
being made right now but it does have potential if it's done well, the downfall is it's on ABC who
have a history of not putting effort into potentially good shows and killing them off good shows
prematurely so don't get too hooked on it too quickly

new vampire series with a "Eureka" type cop flavor, Eastwick type "light" town folks..
TrueBlood shapeshifter warewolves and Vampire Diaries teenage scene thrown in.
Natural day walker vampires, but burn in sunlight just after a feed.
tight editing.
good pace.
intriguing.
could develop into something good...

Quite good for a first episode. Do not for get the whitches (hope that is spelled correct but then i
have always been bad at english Then again i would not say im the new generation being over 50 LOL)
Looks like a place for all types a safe haven for all but with the town council knowing just what we
are. there may also be other types to emerge not sure what but the Gates opens up (PUN) all types
of possabillities LOL Forgot to add with what others had said Eurika meets True Blood + Eastwick and
iv added Desperate Housewifes (boy is she desperate)

Enjoyed first episode,but will reserve judgement till after a couple more episodes,looks like there could be
a few story lines.To me looks a bit like "Twilight mixed with New Moon and witches of Eastwick.

I liked it. It definitely reminds of Eureka with the whole community in a bubble + cop who's going to go
snooping around too much and upset The Gates way of life (and death). I'm not sure how I feel about
them showing us all the supernatural stuff at once. We've got football playing werewolves, a vampire
couple with a human child, and a couple of witches running boutiques. The Gates was designed as a haven
for those who demand privacy so would obviously attract these types of creatures. Presumably the guy
who built the community is aware of what's going on, as would be the town council, but the police seem to
be out of the loop. The vampires are able to walk around in the daytime due to some super duper sunblock
lotion, probably that the husband invented at his biotech firm. Much better than sparklepires and their
glittery teflon skin.

I agree with the Eureka part never bothered with the Witches of Eastwick(sorry cant replace jack no matter
what)
I don't think this will last imo because its like Tru Blood/Twilight "LITE" as in lite beer.
To much on tv atm thats well established it even takes a little from Being Human.(surprisingly good show
imo)
Just some tv executive trying to make a quick buck buy combining other successful shows ideas imo.
Ill watch it for a bit see where it goes but as stated a few posts ago ABC will mess it up and kill it off i bet.
For the most part at least it will be a time killer but wont be disappointed when its done
