.mkv is an .avi container. Learn to transcode it and you will never need to ask this again. You do
not need a fast computer to do so. If you have a nVidia card you can use Badaboom, WinAVI will
transcode on most computers, Nero Burning ROM will do also. What you need to ask for is Audio/video
formats like DivX, XviD, for video and MP3,AC3 for audio - there are many of these, most are
contained in kLite Mega codec pack, freely available from freecodecs.com Virtual Dub is another
free open source editor and transcoder, available from sourceforge.net

eztv is an indexing site - you can not post videos here directly.

The Pillars of the Earth is an 8 hour mini-series airing on Starz USA channel every friday starting
juli 23, later this year it will air on Channel 4 UK.

As for an SD .avi version, maybe you will get lucky later on.

This series is well worth watching in HD 720p resolution.

I think what cindy25 is asking for is the "normal" size avi file that should be, I think, about
700Mb. The mkv file is the HD version and is usually much larger.

Exactly. 1.5 gigs is a little off-putting to be honest. I'll still download it because I have been
looking forward to the show, but the longer download and then conversion to avi bugs me.

Nonetheless, EZTV is a god send, thanks.

Many thanks for the link. I have swapped to this as I have a slow link and it would take a long time
to download the mkv versions. Also would need to convert as I use an Iomega ScreenPlay HD that does
not recognise mkv

Anyone else get sound dropouts and a horizontal line pop in and out? I'm only 6 minutes in, hopefully
this is not through the whole thing.
