You may need to install a codec to decode the sound to decode in mplayer. http://www.divxmovies.com/faq/ http://download.divxmovies.com/ac3filter_1_45b.exe |

@Anonymous - No the IMMERSE rips are still suspect. 720p rips for Episode 08 (from iNTERNAL) are already out on usenet. They work fine on the WD HDTV. Look in alt.binaries.multimedia @Greenbunni3 @Halsgate Guys thank you for caring enough to post BUT please read the question. Anonymous has a hardware based media player called the WD HDTV (as do I). Random advice about software codecs for VLC and mplayer are just useless and a waste of time. |

"Did anyone checked this on asus oplay/wdtv? " This is why I decided not to go down the path of using a dedicated media player device there are never firmware updates for later codecs. I use a Netbook hooked upto my LCD TV, Much less hassle than recoding a file to suport my device. |

I've been using a PC hooked up to to an LCD since 2005. Doesn't help with the fact that IMMERSE churn out shite though. As to the ac3filter. Currently using version 1.63b so I don't see how an older codec is going to help. Which leaves sCifI3001's advice as of Fridays Eureka: http://filesharingtalk.com/threads/421785-The-IMMERSE-720p-RELEASE-PROBLEM-THREAD-READ-Here-for-playing-solutions- Oh and sCifI if you do trip past here, any notion as to why these stone-cold-turd like files aren't getting propered? |

FYI - while not directly relevant to True Blood.S03E08.720p it's worth noting... I just risked an IMMERSE rip for Rubicon.S01E03.720p and it worked fine on the WD HDTV. IMMERSE may have taken note of negative comments and fixed the problem. |

Looks like Immerse have listened and temporarily removed the header compression that was causing the no-sound issue on WDTV etc. The below is from the nfo to this release on another tracker: "We removed header compression temporary http://www.matroska.org/news/compressed-headers.html http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/faq.html#header_removal_compression http://wdtv.uservoice.com/forums/17442-general/suggestions/944559-compressed-header-in-matroska keep voting" Btw, one of the links has a tool for fixing 'broken' files to work with WDTV. I've tried it and it works perfectly. Only takes a few seconds too. Still, it kinda feels like it'd be easier not to use the compression in the first place, rather than expecting everyone to 'fix their players'. The Matroska dev claims that it saves space, but I dunno, my files after removing the compression are only about 100KB bigger... |

The file is playable after a re-download but, wtf, hearing impaired text! Thanks anyway! Tried now 3 times. Probably my fault. Doesn't work at all! Sorry, this is the 2nd week that Immerse doesn't work. No fun at all. |

I'm with you Gonda, I've got a fiber connection here and I'm topping out @ 60kB/s. Hung and Entourage were lightning fast as usual however. Something is jamming that TB swarm... |
