No surprises, Immerse's releases are always crap, but it has nothing to do with EZTV, who simply index the files (and do a
great job of it).

Immerse's encodes only play correctly on VLC, you can forget standalone players.
I don't understand why Immerse insist on releasing these half-assed versions. I know it's free, beggars can't be choosers
and all that, but why can't they do things properly like all the other groups out there?! Go figure...

The latest Mad Men episode in 720p is the same, by the way. Immerse again.

Some weeks ago they told what the problem is. They're activating compressed headers on matroska
files, and unfortunately most stand alone players and a lot of video players don't handle that well,
but it's in the standard.
With that said, seeing that there's virtually no difference in size when using this option or not
it's a bad move on their part. You can make it playable on standalone players running it through a
program called mkWDclean , though.

Thanks a lot for the tip, it'll be useful if they turn compression back on.

According to the .nfo, Immerse "removed header compression temporarily" on this release (and on the latest Mad Men
episode, too; I haven't checked their other recent releases, but I imagine it's the same).

Bottom line: the file should play on most standalone players. I can confirm that it works without any tinkering on my TViX
6600 series (barring any firmware differences, the N1 and S1 should read it as well, since they all use basically the same
chip).

You guys whine like nothing I have ever seen.
I haven't experienced this particular download, but other Immerse have worked fine since they
stopped using header compression. I can play them back perfectly on my WD Live TV and Live plus
players with no problems. Earlier versions that did have header compression can be run through
MKVMerge 3.3.0 and that will fix the sound.
So with all that said, All I can say is Grow Up you whiny little bastard

Although I've had problems with the last 3 or 4 iMMERSE releases on my Asus O!Play stand-alone
player, this release is working perfectly! Thank you very much!

Another release that won't play streaming through WMC on Xbox 360.

As I've seen someone else say before, why would IMMERSE change the way he releases his files when
they were working perfectly fine before. The latest and greatest is not always the best, when it
comes to what's best it's what's most compatible. This new format offers no improvement in audio,
video, or file size for that matter, so really, what is the point?

Moving on, I've tried using the .CMD script with MKVToolnix someone posted in a previous thread and
it seems to have fixed maybe one episode but not the past 3. I've also tried running the files
through mkWDclean, with no luck.

Does anyone have any insight to another fix for this? Anyone else running these on Xbox through
windows media?

Having to download the shitty SD versions just to be able to stream them is pretty annoying, defeats
the purpose of having a giant HDTV. =(

Trolls, please save your time and mine and don't respond to this post.

Any real help would be greatly appreciated.

IMMERSE should give it up. Not only are there compression problems with these releases -- even though that option could
be and should be turned off -- but there are general encoding problems as well.

And NO, running VLC is NOT the answer. Not everyone wants to watch their videos on computers...

I've found another source that works fine on my Noontec V9-T player. Not sure if I can post the
links here, so if anyone wants to know PM me and I can point you in the direction and hopefully they
will work on your brand of media player.

As for playing the files on Xbox. All you got to do is convert the video to WMV. pretty simple.
It took me a while to find a program for free that i like, but now its a simple process of
downloading it, then converting it at an expanded size so it shows up better on my tv's larger screen

I don't think WMC can play anything on Xbox that isn't already .WMV will it?
Can it play .AVI files? That would be great if it could for other shows i have.
My impression though was that everything must be .WMV

Ok--i don't know if that helps or not--but good luck!

Yeah, I play .avi's on my XBox both through WMC and through the shared folders. I played these
.mkv's up until episode 7 or whenever people started having problems.

Whatever happend to DIMENSION torrents? These were fantastic and always worked on any media player
with the 720p files?

All we have now is a second rate supplier who only caters for one audience. Sure there is someone
else out there who can pick up the slack?
