Reason for proper? I already downloaded the first one and I don't really want to get the next unless there is something bad like a horrible sync issue or a segment having been accidentally removed. |

Release Notes NoTV's cap suffers from video artefacts at several points most noticable at 20:48 when an entire sentence from Lana is missed. |

I just don't understand why they allow uploads from these NoTv guys?? They never give good recaps and most of the times we need propers. This really sucks |

That's not true. Even XOR and LOL screw up some of their releases. |

Agreed. NoTV's work is shoddy at best. LoL's been bad too. XoR has been relatively solid. Having said that, it's important to keep things in perspective. I am still grateful for the scene's work. If you feel that NoTV doesn't produce quality.. then simply wait a few days to see if a proper is released. I am a little interested as to why NoTV's releases keep on getting accepted. Their reputation precedes them hehe. On the other hand, the recent Scrubs and Office releases haven't been too bad. The Office one had like 3 or 4 blackouts but doesn't affect the experience one bit.

I really don't think there's a Quality Control department where torrent releases are concerned. They come out so soon after air that there isn't time for someone to sit through their work. |

It is sort of sucks when quality gets in the way, but without these guys, there wouldn't be any episodes to follow. It's nice if those with good quality can rush their production, but if not, it's better something than nothing. It's just not easy to QA these torrent releases. |

The problem is if a release group does take the time to check their file first, then they'll often get beaten by someone else who hasn't checked but managed to get it right first time and being first is the #1 concern from what I can see. Some of the UK release groups don't rush so much (and will often do shows without ads as one whole file instead of breaking it up to speed encoding and make the file managment easier) particularly the hd groups but they usually get a lot of flack about the time they take. |

Also, video artifacts and glitching at 8:45-8:52?? I was watching in full-screen so am unsure. This is the reason for the Proper. In other words, the group decided it was unacceptable and needed a proper. |

I usually like to stay out of these and watch from afar, but... 1. I believe the word you were looking for was "UN-grateful" you ignorant FUCK. Ignorant because you assume that everyone that downloads these files are able to watch these shows on TV or have the ability to use a TIVO box, but hey... if you don't live in America too fucking bad then right????? 2. If you actually read all the posts and maybe even understood them, then you may have noticed that it was a fairly nice discussion. Starting with the question for the proper, so that stdesy could decide whether or not to waste more download. Reason for proper, to make stdesy's decision easier. Followed by a few people's opinions, which I think we are still allowed to have, for now anyway. There were no harsh words being said and no bitching, as I have seen in many other forums in relation to torrents and the quality of scene releases, until you came along and had to put your 2 fucking cents in The argument over the quality of scene releases can go on for a millenia. There are 2 sides. There are those that are grateful for the scene releases work but want to make sure that they are downloading good quality rips and not wasting their bandwidth (which is very precious to most people I think) on a file that they might have to download again. Which is why stdesy asked the question... and for which everyone is going to have a different "threshold" point of the severity of the nuking, depending on whether you are archiving, just watching because you missed it or anywhere in between. And then there are those who are also grateful for the scene's work but think that no-one has a right to complain about quality saying things like "We'll you get it for nothing, go fuck yourselves and get down on you knees saying "We're not worthy, we're not worthy". Normal free to air TV channels. They have a show on, or a movie and they skip a line, or there is a blackout, or it is out of sync, or the audio is fuzzy, or the picture is blocky or one of a million things. If it happened one day, big deal. If it happened the next day as well, unfortunate. But if it happened every time you turned on the TV would you still be happy with that? First group of people would be asking what the fuck is going on? To those on the other side of the argument, are you really trying to tell us that your comment is going to be "Fuck you, go and buy the DVD" because we get the channels for free. Now that I have also put my 2 cents in, I'll be going.

*applaudes zygron's rant towards gangbang* my 2 cents about the general bitching and counter-bitching about releases, as long as something is watchable (visual glitches i dont mind as much as out of sync sound, those are fucking annoying) on my anchient pc and slightly less anchient monitor i'm happy. so i was glad i could watch smallville today (and some other stuff like stargate sg1 and atlantis) wich would've been nearly impossible to watch if i had to wait for the networks in my country, or really expensive if wouldve had to buy the dvd's... so a big thank u to all who make it possible to enjoy my shows ^^ |
