I got one named "Dexter.s05e11.720p.hdtv.x264-immerse-BoB.mkv" This turned out to be only the same
quality and resolution as the other "....xVid.FQM.avi " versions but only 159 MB compared to 550 mb
and 1. 1.09 gb for this one !!!!!!

What gives?

159MB sized episodes that have the running length of a show like Dexter (ie. 42-55minutes) have to
be in some kind of lame lowres Ipod quality (im guessing 320x240 px). 550MB is the standard size for
Xvid episodes, which have much lesser resolution (usually something like 620x350 pixels) than the
1.09GB 720p HD versions like this one (which has a whopping 1280x720px! and surround sound in stead
of silly old stereo).
With those size differences it is impossible those files are of the same quality/resolution.

Elementary, dear Watson.

Plux2010 doesn't know what he/she's talking about!
both the 1 and 1.5 GB eps are 720p (same applies to the .5 and .75 eps).. It depends on:
1. The length of the ep (with or without end credits for example).
2. The audio stream (2 vs 6 channels, as well as the bitrate).
3. The video bitrate (resolution isn't a factor coz they are all the same: 1280x720px).
4. The ripping group (2HD, BIA, IMMERSE, CTU... etc) which decide on the file size depending on the
previous 3 factors. If the smaller file size is enough to produce an ep [length/audio/video] they will go
for that.. if it's not.. they will go for the larger size using the difference in size to increase the video
bitrate.

No group releases /stable/ 1080p rips of TV shows YET. Simply, because the demand doesn't exist.
Perhaps in a year or two when HW to play 1080p files without constantly glitching are affordable to the
majority, and when internet transfer rates are higher, and when 1440p is the next 1080p.. 1080p will
replace the 720p. I myself cannot wait for the cycle to turn
