It is crunch time for one of the world’s most famous hotels. After a £220 million refurbishment lasting almost three years London’s Savoy Hotel is almost ready to re-open its doors. With the opulent décor now finished the pressure is on the team of old hands and new recruits to ensure the service lives up to the luxurious surroundings. From the butlers that will offer a bespoke service for the guests in the most expensive suites, to the chefs and waiting staff in the new River Restaurant, the pressure is really on. We witness the team’s attempts to woo top celebrities back to the world famous hotel and find out whether the service lives up to their expectations once they’re through the door. And when the new owner arrives for Prince Charles’ grand opening we find out whether, after all the hard work, he thinks his money’s been well spent. Narrated by Hugh Bonneville. |
