what is it with the focus issues on a lot of the mentalist episodes uploaded here? they're making me
dizzy.... im gonna look for 720p on piratebay next time, hope that will be better!

The show airs like that, it's not an encode thing. The same sort of effect is on the 720 though
less so because theres more resolution in general. That combined with the fact the show is usually
quite long (42-43mins) gives less bitrate for the encode of the show itself so it looks "soft". NCIS
always looks soft too.

It's a combination of things, style of the show, length of the show, available room in a 350mb file,
encoding techniques but since different encoding groups (FQM, 2HD, FEVER) all seem to have the same
issue occasionally it's obviously not something they are doing to "WIN".

Its entirely watchable once. If not perfect. It's not the groups fault. They can only encode what is
there.

Well, some people seem to expect groups to additionally apply sophisticated video enhancement
filters to their releases ... xD
