Quicker to encode dude, don't you think its seem alot more sensible to do the SD version before HD?

This is incorrect. It may take longer to upload, download and predistribute them but that shouldn't be
more than 6-7 minutes with todays network speeds. They're released about the same time on
newsgroups, and among scene peers the HD version is usually available sooner. Transcoding takes
place while recording, if applicable, the stream is then demuxed, cut and remuxed. SD version may be
reencoded after cutting, though.

Usually EZTV gets them both released within two hours of each other, it may have gotten lost if it isn't
there in six.

No. This and the next episode belong together. Story about Nova continues.

What Slawa tried to say was "Yes, it was the ending of episode 17, but the story will probably continue
in episode 18 (Blockade)".

I've checked the run-time of a previous episode and the approximate run-time is about 42.13 min ~
42.16 min.
In this one the end-credits were cut off. Hope this helps

Ohh yea, thanks for the upload!!

SPOILER ALERT - (highlight to read)
WTF, Gates (at least MilkyWay Gates) were practically indestructible and now one gets wiped
out by a tiny
drone?

If these SGU gates are so insubstantial how have they lasted this long anyway?

Wtf, 2000years of evolution and they get killed by a super vulcano.

They were already humans in an high evolutionary path (destiny had some of the best ppl on board)
and they couldnt create a little shield, they got asgaard, ancient, goald, replicator knowledge, and
they
make skyscrapers? wtf, unless they all ascended like they should, this was the stupidest episode ever.

Stargate universe only makes sense when u havent seen Sg-1 and atlantis. Cause then ur clueless off
all the technologie they already have and think all the ppl on destiny have an iq of 80.

Yea, they've got the knowledgde, but only in their heads. Remember, when going through the
gate on
route to Earth, they weren't carrying loads and loads of data from Destiny; I have just seen through
episode 12 and literally NOONE is carrying anything.
So yeah, maybe especially the tech guys knows about "asgaard, ancient, goald, replicator knowledge",
but how can you remember it all?

I personally find it a bit hard to imagine that small a number of people building up a society - not
the
numbers stated, but the technology level. Maybe they know all kinds of technology, but when you have
nothing, you need the base even more. So what if you can do ancient astrophysics about jumping back
wormholewise, if you don't know how to mine minerals to even make "chips".
Where is all that base knowledgde gonna come from...? I know EVERYONE on a Stargate show seams
to be geniuses, but still...

Sure, we did it here on Earth, but we were more than just what...tops 40 people, when starting out,
maybe 500 within 30 years?
It would only take few years for bullets to run out, then your only food is veggies or the small amount
of prey you can catch with stone-age-technology - that's not the best basis for that small a population
to go on.
It only takes one bad harvest/hard winter, or a couple of mallplaces explosions, and then maybe half of
your "brain"people have died...

But I guess anything flies in Stargate. As does wormholes connection to gates in their vicinity but
waaaayyy of in time when a soler flare interferes; so I guess the eith and nineth shevron-"energy" got
converted to "time" and the adress got redirected?
(Anyway, all that time-thing-whatever doesn't really work with one particular episode of SG-1 were we
are told that when you gate, you go to another time (not only point) in space. But that episode doesn't
work with any other SG-1 -A or -U, so that doesn't really matter, it has just always bothered me.)

And as someone said, I too though gates were more stirdy than that ... or maybe Milkyway-gates are
newer and better than these; I can't remember which were seeded first.

probably one of my favorite episodes of SGU, cant wait for the next ep :3

SPOILER ALERT - (highlight to read)
and on the knowledge topic...
I seriously doubt that people at destiny had Asgard knowledge, they have some limited knowledge in
Ancient(witch they pretty much learned by fiddling with the ship), but the people controlling the
ship was not meant for this mission like the Atlantis crew or the SGC.

There have not (as far as i can remember) been any mention about stored information on goa'uld,
replicator or Asgard databases available on the ship.

a few times -mission files- where mentioned, and references was made to different missions made by
SG-1, but that is not the same as complete knowledge databases from alien races.

I also believe one of the posters above makes a good point, it would be hard to distribute all this
knowledge when you start over on a planet from zero, and there is no way to know how much (if any
existed in the first place) of the databases made it to the planet.

I have no problem with this story, it seemed logical and reasonable to me, and I must say i loved
this episode big time

[edit]
The One thing that did bother me however was the damaged gate, why did the explosion not ignite the
naquadah parts of the gate?

dont have to highlight this as spoiler.

But what bugs me is that Sg1 and atlantis were perfectly synchrome, sgu just comes as a afterbirth
that shouldve bin aborted.

To many contradictions, to many things happen or are discovered that they already explained in sg 1-
A. And that the crew of destiny should know.

How much i like the stargate franchise, i really dont care sgu is getting canceled, i will watch it till the
end to see what they make of it, but then i will prob never watch it again, unlike sg1-a that i have
watched about 8 times.
