From IMDB: A Long Island psychotherapist whose personal life unravels when she finds her husband cheating. Diving fully into her work, Dr. Dani Santino soon finds herself as the most sought-after therapist for high-profile clients. Athletes, entertainers, politicians and others living in the spotlight clamor for her unique brand of tough love therapy during their moments of crisis. Although her career is reenergized, it wreaks havoc on her life as a newly minted single mom of two teenagers. Written by USA Network Publicity Anyone watch this yet? How does it look? |

Standard 'Single Mum with a despiccable Ex' with a twist to it. The main character definitely doesn't seem to be too happy with her standard clients and her son is apparently turning into Mini-Dad so it might be interesting to see how this turns out. Although I do not absolutely love the emphasis on hypnotherapy as the end-all-be-all (maybe they are going to clarify that) and quick-fix therapy the rest of the show didn't do anything horribly wrong yet imo and is amusing to watch so personally I am going to check out the next episodes when they air as well. |

Hell no - female here, and this is the kind of crap I hate most. Especially with the bratty children. Whenever I read the show description of 'newly single mother of teenage boy/girl/many' I close the tab/stop the download. I'm even starting to get annoyed at The Good Wife because of her dumb-ass kids, and that's actually a good show (please, Mr Wizard, give Alicia's kids some brains. It's a matter of life and death). |

I agree with itadaku- This is definitely targeted at the female audience - esp. coming from USA, which is churning out scripted shows with female law enforcement officers every time you blink, just read this: "As a newly single mom raising two teenagers, her start-up practice wreaks havoc on her life. But recognizing that she's changing people's lives for the better, she is determined to make her new career work by striking a balance between her personal and professional worlds." (Source: USA) Ick. arjumand has a point too, though. I think that even though they're clearly aiming at a female audience ( and prob hoping for some crossover appeal with the addition of football or crime stories), it seems like this formula is being seen as a tired cliche even by the demographic its tailored to appeal to. plus- this stars the actress who plays the crazy widow of Tommy's cousin/best-friend on Rescue Me. She's come across as grating in everything I've ever seen her in. I don't mind that much on a quality show (like 'Rescue Me' or 'Homicide: L.O.T.S.', but as the lead in a hour long drama- no thanks! |

Ha! I'm half-way through, and I'm actually loving it! Even if it sounds like a typically clichéd show at first glance, the writing is actually brilliant, the actress totally fits into the role of the lead character and comes off as believable (and yet this is the pilot episode!), and I had no idea that I'd already watched over half an hour of it when I decided to write this comment, haha. Then again, I guess I should mention that I'm a girl btw. >_> Maybe I've been targeted! But give the show a chance, you might enjoy it. One of the best pilots I've seen this year (after Game of Thrones & Switched at Birth of course). |

That was so great. Was it good for you too? Oh, good. What? Your boss has a client for me? Great. That is so great. Wow, look at the size of this retainer. Oh, BTW, we can't sleep together anymore, not that we had bothered to form any kind of bond a priori other than the standard boilerplate key-in-the-lock Ace Hardware store connection, no emotional planes to cross over here, but hey, I'm a psycho-therapist with an emphasis on the psycho who just loves run-on sentences, so... see you in the next life? |

Werd. I didn't even like her in The Wire. To say she comes across as grating is kind, too, too, kind. |

I've watched the first few episodes, and I'm finding it a refreshing show, smart for summer fare, and one of the best new shows around. I can understand folks who haven't liked some of the characters that Callie Thorne has played before, but she's delightful here - kicking ass and being vulnerable by turns. If you like smartly written dramedies with some attractive (yet also good) actors, check out this show. |

I totally agree, I don't understand why so many people here are bashing it. I'm actally surprised that I haven't found any huge flaws regarding the psychiatric parts of this show. The lead character is very believable, and she feels REAL too. Even when I'm expecting her or the writers to totally botch something up (like in House, hahaha, I mean god, every time they try to resurrect a patient who has flatlined by using the defribrillator I could almost scream, it's like, "IF THERE WAS ANY CHANCE OF SAVING THAT PERSON'S LIFE, YOU JUST RUINED IT YOU MORONS" surprised. "Oh, they actually kind of nailed it there" or "actually, that wasn't very far from what it's like in real life" - so the creators definitely seem to know what they're doing. I hope the other actors catch up too 'cause they're the only part of the show that I have issues with so far. |
