Information Fireball of Christ This is the story of the meteor that changed the world forever. In 312 AD the Roman Emperor Constantine claimed he saw a mysterious light in the sky which convinced him to convert to Christianity, forever altering the course of history. Don't believe this story too much, recent research suggest this "crater" was actually the result of human activity and karstic processes: http://www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/2009/2008JB005759.shtml  Of course this National Geographic documentary doesn't refer to this source because it would make it less spectacular for the audience...I guess the people at National Geographic believe that their watchers prefer to watch a spectacle, rather than the truth. And they may well be right... |
