Wow I never made the connection that she was the pink power ranger. At first I laughed when I read it but the clogs turned really quickly on that one and before you know it I was on imdb, craziness she hasnt changed much. Excited for season 5. This last season ended on a great note. |

What's with the Canadian bashing lately? Geez can we get someone half serious for those articles? Flashpoint is a great show, and unlike US shows its not about cops unloading 3 clips into any random passerby then going full auto on some teens. It's drama without the superflux bang bang your dead of US tv. NICE for a change. |

Don't mock Flashpoint! It's great to see a show with cops who have the skill and guts to not shoot everything that moves, and the brains not to get into cars that will blow up in a fender-bender. Watching the US variations over "tough-on-crime" gets tiresome after a while. The usual fare of psychopathic dismissal of the human worth of the "perp" has never been enough to convince me that they're ass-holes rather than cowards. I think they're both. To make things worse, the evidence is pretty strong that real cops in the US are nearly as cowardly and psychopathic as the TV ones (though without the professionally written witticisms). I'm not talking about the ones caught on tape, but the ones not outraged, or even mildly surprised, by the acts caught on tape. |

Racist? You mean as in Caucasian (white), Negroid (black), Mongoloid (yellow) and Canadian (syrupy)? lol His (her? its?) comment wasn't racist, it was nationalist, which is to say, "really freakin' stupid and uninformed."
Why would I do that? The characters on Flashpoint are awesome, because, unlike most actual Canadians, they're not whiny little bed-wetting pussies. Oh, get a grip, I'm just kidding. You did kinda open that door. I just walked through and peed on your carpet. |

Well, it wasn't my carpet; I'm not Canadian. Still, peeing on carpets isn't nice. It's also quite risky; many poor critters have been neutered for less. Housebroken is the way to go, if you want to keep the magic beans in your pouch... I'm sorry. I love irony, satire, and metaphors. To resist the satirical potential in expanding on your metaphor, especially considering the irony that the door was opened with a metaphor about opening a door, was too much for me. |

I love all the anti-American bashing in here. The irony of one person saying, "wah wah wah blah blah blah you all make fun of Canadians!" can some how turn into, "OK lets make fun of Americans because two wrongs make a right!" is baffling! A bunch of hypocrites and esign, you're definitely the worse one in here with your over reaching generalizations of not just Americans but also of American law enforcement. |

I resent that! I haven't made any over-reaching generalizations about Americans. Well, not this time, anyway. In fact, my only generalization was about American cop shows. I also expressed a concern over the apparent lack of concern shown by many American cops, when faced with obviously unnecessary violence by other cops. The fact is, some of the cases of brutality that have surfaced, should have decent cops marching in the streets, demanding that such elements be weeded out from among their ranks. Instead, you all too often find them in the same videos, leaning back and watching. You certainly don't see them call for prosecution of such violence. When a large and random subset (cops happening to be present) share a specific quality (casually observing police brutality), that quality is unlikely to be rare in the set. Add to that the apparent absence of different subsets (no cops protesting the brutality, even in retrospect), and it's hard to resist drawing a conclusion. Of course I know that most cops are decent people in most ways. It still stands, though, that they fail both to intervene against the actions of obviously unfit cops, and to demand action against such cops. That's indecent, and amounts to condoning their actions. So, why don't they object in any noticeable way? I speculate that there may be some causal relation to the outrageous behaviour idealized in nearly every American cop show - even in the good ones. |

Lol - no wonder the US is more hated now than when they refused to help anyone during WWII, tried to play atomic weapon piggy-in-the-middle with Russia over Europe in the middle, and decided to lie about WMDs to invade the whole of the middle east so they wouldn't have to stop Israel from throwing its weight about - USA! USA! USA! Maybe Canada will eventually sell lots of oil and water to them, suck up all their money and then invade the north ... |

For more on US-Canadian wars, watch "Canadian Bacon" (1995) by Michael Moore. It's a comedy, not a documentary. At least not yet. The low budget shows, but Moores style doesn't require high budgets, so it's not intrusive. It even touches on attitude differences in law enforcement (Mountie vs. country sheriff). |
