hook your laptop up to your tv and use VLC player , it's a small miracle when a tv plays any media file

How so small? these usually weigh in at around a gig??

The issue is not usually the display but the decoder. sometimes, depending on the stream frame size
& fps changing it so your NOT up-scaling and playback @ same fps as encoded can help.
also setting your tv to GAME mode if it has one as this disables most of the tv-side processing that
can add up to lip-sync issues

Stereo instead of 5.1 channels. Too bad, I can spot some really crappy image quality spots all along
the episode.
