Really, I'm shocked! .... not

I'd rather spend 44 minutes watching water boil.

It's a show you want to like and go into with an open mind, and even forgive the many horrible potholes to
be found in the pilot but whatever.

This show was not worth the advertiser's dollars, not worth the viewer's time, not even worth the bandwidth
to watch online or download.

Had forgotten about it until I saw the post about it's cancellation, will forget about it again soon after I hit
the Submit button.

I will thank it for giving me a few moments to blah, blah, blah online in the form of this post.

I enjoyed the show and am sad to see it get cancelled however i am not suprised it did i mean it was on
FOX for a start! It wasn't the dinosaur/action packed show I was hoping for but i would of liked a
second series to see if the show got any better. Hopefully it means Fringe doesn't get canned that would
really piss me off if it did!

THANK GOODNESS!!!! really it was such a waste of time. Im just angry i invested so much time
watching each episode in the hope it would get better! The script, the puppet dinosaurs, the angst
ridden looks from everyone... please

"Seriously, a dinosaur was sent to the future to help save the past? Or was it a dinosaur was sent
to the present to help save the present from the past destroying our future?"

Wasn't the dinosaur sent by the colonists to create a distraction for the cop dude? Weren't they
meant to be sending back a boat figurehead instead?

Regardless, I'm unsurprised by the decision, and whilst I really had high hopes for the show, at
least it's something I don't need to feel obliged to watch because I (like bechepworth) had invested
heaps of time already.

It was overhyped clearly, but should have held so much more promise (Spielberg + dinosaurs, I mean,
come on, that's a great combo!). Unfortunately the focus of the show was on the drama and
intergroup politics, which was not how the trailers pitched it.

[sigh]

Bring back Invasion and Surface - those shows were great.

Whether you liked Terra Nova or not, it's a sad reminder of how hard it is to keep a scripted,
quality production show on air. There was nothing wrong with the ratings, and relative production
costs for effects are lower than ever. Even so, in competition with "reality" shows, where the
"actors" work for free, the sets are nearly free, and you can get away with horrible production and
small staff, it didn't have a chance.

I thought the show was decent, and would've watched it for another season, even if it was severely
limited in trying to appeal to the entire family. Somehow, that not only limits a show, it also
results in some very predictable characters and plot elements, as well as illogical plot elements
(ineffective stun guns against dinosaurs, instead of much more efficient and reliable firearms?).

To complain about the special effects is just stupid, though. They were far beyond what you can
expect in a TV show. In fact, they were too good, considering that it was production costs that
killed the show.

Eh, sadness. I kinda liked it. It's not like I'm going to cry over the loss, but it was enjoyable, some of the
story arcs I would've liked to see the turnout to, but alrighty.
I suppose I should wait with the new shows this season and not start watching anything otherwise I'll be
disappointed again.
Waiting till middle of summer season to see what survives.

I think the best opinion-piece I read of Terra Nova said something along the lines of "Terra Nova is a good
2 hour sci-fi movie, with 9 inconsequential hours between the first and second hours"

Fringe was confirmed to be finishing at the end of this season I believe. I hope they change their minds
though.

Terra Nova was complete shite, just watching 1 episode and you could tell.

It was so poorly made for such a big budget series. The story was interesting as are many serie ideas, but
the execution was so bad. From the acting to the effects... Its was one of those shows, e.g. Surface, which
are very interesting cos of the story, but if it were made by HBO or Showtime it would look so much better.

PS. Is it true that its the most expensive serie made? They advertised it so in Finland, couldnt believe it.

It really was crap, maybe not in the overall sense, but for a so called huge budget show, it 'looked' cheap as hell most of
the time, including some of the finals where it seemed they skipped spending any money on the big future invasion by fast
forwarding the whole battle, like WTF?.

In fact if this was big budget, you have to wonder like hell where all the money did go, the special effects often looked so
fake you had to do a reality check on weather you were watching 3rd rate anything on cable.

Having just said all that, elements were ok, just no where near good enough to make you forget how bad some of it was.

It was a new concept ...which is surprising... so for that alone it was worth watching. Not a zombie or
vampire in the bunch. Too bad you get kicked to the curb for being innovative. That's TV for ya. They
should have thrown in a dork being pursued by a bunch of drunken bimbets.
