"lol, republicans really are the most stupid, backward people in existence,
amazing!"
interesting....i thought those people that made sweeping generalizations were
the most stupid, backward people in existence.

it certainly highlighted a very unsavoury part of us culture. the hope is
that these type of people are in the minority. just to be safe, think i'll
stick to visiting blue states only!

or... you know... don't paint your car with highly critical/opposition viewpoints or lifestyles.

this was definitely one of the best episodes i've ever seen of top gear (only
started watching at the end of last season and this season so i don't know the
whole show; going to have to get the dvds if they're available). just a
beautiful show the whole way through. i especially loved their comments on the
cars at the end. such a touching moment for me, because that's how i've always
felt about my vehicles.

god i love this show.

btw, the commentary on america seemed right on and did not offend me at all,
and i consider myself easily annoyed by blanket stereotypes and such (i'd be
annoyed by any blanket stereotype, about any country). the generalizations were
applicable to the territory they were transversing. and it was funny.

lol we have a winner. anytime you make decisive statements you'll get a
reaction from those who disagree. i often play devils advocate to get a rise
out of folks.

as far as "anti-american" humor, i could care less. i love top gear have been
watching for many years. they poke fun at many different groups, esp. tree
hugging hippies. i hope most people are smart of enough to laugh and realize
it's a show/entertainment.

mrmachman: im guessing you are an american? all you did was to proove your lack
of knoewlegde of the rest of the world.

it was obviously a joke, nobody in their right minds will think that driving a
white car with "man-love rules ok" painted in pink everywhere in american will
get you killed. but doing it in certain places in america might do the trick,
and its far more easy to find those locatiations in american then elsewhre.

no, i would pretty much definitely call that a spoiler, giving away the climax
of the show is definitely an archetype of what one would call a spoiler. what
is there to guess?

spoilers i guess... i wouldn't really consider it a spoiler.

i think anyone who wants to get attacked should get a white car, dress up like a
cowboy and drive through alabama with "man-love rules ok" painted on the side of
your car in pink letters. or write "i'm bi" on the hood, "hillary for president"
on the side and "nascar sucks" on the back. either way - they really gonna hate ya!

lol this episode was a total riot. to the americans who think "they stooped low"
can't you see the funny side? its ridiculous that people would attack you for
slogans on your car, i mean, free speech and all that lol

great, fantastic episode and one that just goes to show america is one f****d up
country.

jeremy clarkson for alabama state governor....or something :-o

yeah they're all for free speech...as long as you're not saying something they
disagree with. all in all, it's a television show, it was absolutely hilarious
and they certainly did more for some of the people of new orleans than the rest
of their country seems to be doing.

poignant, isn't it?

it was a laugh out loud funny, and so very sad. best ep was the
winter olympics special i thought. but you know what? a town full
of tree hugging hippies wouldn't have cared one bit. the problem
is there are pratically no tree hugging hippies anymore, just a country
full of angry people who let themselves be terrorized by fear mongering
politicians and their own insecurities, which are exacerbated by a
failing economy, republican malfeasance, devastated countries in south
america, overpopulation, chemical contamination, and corporate greed.
and that is just the tip of the iceberg. don't get me started on how
the prision system and the drug war has destroyed generations of families,
or the fact that there were few if any fish caught off the west coast
last year, how there's not enough fresh water but we have rampant growth
solely to line the pockets of political cronies, which has caused the
sacramento river delta ecosystem to collapse with mearly 5% of the normal
amount of krill still alive. 5 freakin percent. $17 usd a pound for
fish at our local market, fish that used to cost $6 usd a pound just
a few years ago. it's not good. not good.

back to the show. i'm glad they tried to do something nice for new orleans.
it's such a bummer what the lawyer lady tried to do after the cameras were
turned off or what the guys in the pickup truck did. such a nightmare.
