I just couldn't make it through all of part 1. It almost feels like a parody. Its darn near a Saturday Night Live sketch poking fun of low-IQ in-bred hillbillies doing incredibly stupid stuff, over and over and over. Its a really long public service video warning about lack of gene pool diversity. I'll be surprised if the state of Kentucky doesn't sue Costner's production company for slander. This makes their residents look like a bunch of morons. It might as well be "Swamp People" or that "Bare hand catfish fishing" show. |

You, like I didn't before this, probably didn't know this was based on a real life Kentucky-West Virginia feud. Perhaps it's being west coast born & raised(although my father was from West Virginia). I too almost gave up with part one, thinking it was a western version of Romeo & Juliet. But it gets better in the other parts. And seems to be fairly accurate time-wise, and big event wise... So it was a good mini. Better than the Into the West mini back in '05... |
