Is it just me, or is this show just not funny. I try and watch it every week, and its rather painful to watch. It could be that I am not muslim and dont get half of the jokes, but if its just a comedy intended to make people laugh, it isnt working at all. I do however chalk it up to just another bad CBC show, and this one is trying to capitalize on the success of Corner Gas. |

It's not very funny. Still, it has a plot point or a couple of jokes every week that pretty accurately mirror stuff Muslims in North America experience. Whether that makes up for the rest of the show (and, especially, the oddly inaccurate religious practices portrayed on the show) is hard to say. I wonder if it'll make it to season 2. (I'll probably continue watching it, if it does.) |

I find it somewhat funny. There are the couple jokes by show that I find worth the while. Still, I appreciate two things: there\'s no laugh track and it is intelligent comedy. As far as making it to season 2, I too have my doubt... but then again IT IS CBC... :-) |

im a canadian atheist, and i find this show to be very intelligent, with plenty of funny (laugh out loud) moments for myself... i come from a religious family (parents are Bahai's), but plenty of relatives that are muslims, so maybe I am understanding things that other people wouldnt, so i dont know, but i just felt like posting that i love it! =P |

#4 was the least outright funny, but had a couple of laugh-out-louds. #5 was better. The characters are still cardboard, unfortunately. "Settle down, Saladin, the crusades are over" "Ready to put the slam in Islam." |
