“Longmire,” a contemporary crime thriller set in Big Sky country, is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson. The series stars Australian actor Robert Taylor (The Matrix) as Walt Longmire, the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming, along with Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Gallactica), Lou Diamond Phillips (Numb3rs), Bailey Chase (Damages), Cassidy Freeman (Smallville) and newcomer Adam Bartley. Widowed only a year, Longmire is a man in psychic repair that buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. Struggling since his wife’s death and at the urging of his daughter, Cady (Freeman), Longmire knows that the time has come to turn his life around. With the help of Vic (Sackhoff), a female deputy new to the department, he becomes reinvigorated about his job and committed to running for re-election. When Branch (Chase), an ambitious, young deputy decides to run against him for sheriff, Longmire feels betrayed but remains steadfast in his dedication to the community. Longmire often turns to close friend and confidant Henry Standing Bear (Diamond Phillips) for support as he sets out to rebuild both his personal and professional life, one step at a time. “Longmire” is produced by The Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Horizon Television. Hunt Baldwin (The Closer, Trust Me) and John Coveny (The Closer, Trust Me) wrote the pilot and serve as executive producers along with Greer Shephard (The Closer, Nip/Tuck) and Michael M. Robin (The Closer, Nip/Tuck). Christopher Chulack (Southland, ER) served as director and executive producer of the pilot. http://www.aetv.com/longmire/ |

Did you say Battlestar???? I think I'm wet. I like the cast but not sold on the plot, it seems to run of the mill. The cast seems good enough to give it a try though. Thanks for the write up. |

I lost interest half way through and watched another show. Ill pick it up later, Story felt as if it had nothing to hold my interest though. Just another generic police show. |

And by adding the "lolz", sarcastic or not, you just made your whole comment void. I think his point is valid: actors who did some good work in the past are no guarantee for the future. It's all in the writing my friend. He just makes his point in a...funny...way. |

It is another procedural, and those come a dime a dozen so who knows how long the show will last but I do like the cast. They are all fine actors with the ability to bring viewers into their characters. I think how they develop Sackhoff's character will prove vital as she has such a fan base. I enjoy that the show is about "middle America". It's a forgotten region full of tense but rich history. Overall, I liked the first episode and I hope the show continues but, again, with so many procedurals it's going to take good writing to find and hold an audience. |

The "lolz" was strategically placed. The comment was set in a sarcastic tone and the lolz was added to assure everyone that is the route I was taking and not the "creepy pedo" road that is literally asking for a possible young kids age. Thanks for your comment though. There always has to be that 1 douche bag. Today you're it. |

Anyhoo... I actually enjoyed that. At the base of it is you're normal detective show, as yamamancha said, but it kept me hooked. The scenery is nice and reminds me of home. As usual time will tell how long it will last. |

Ignoring all the brown stains above me acting like children, the show was actually pretty good. I found that the characters and plot kept me engaged without peering at the time to see how long was left. Nerdfury's Obscenely Complex Torrent Rating System Says: Download as soon as it's out, pause torrent only for better things, watch later in collection, but not among those things you download, but always leave til last. At least until we see how the rest of the season develops. |
