An SD release (London.2012.Olympics.Opening.Ceremony.CTV.FEED.HDTV.x264-2HD) popped up a couple of minutes ago, and that's probably the one the EZTV crew was waiting for. I'm guessing we won't be getting any 720p content here - a weekly series is one thing, coverage of an all-day every-day sports event is quite another. |

we really need a good BBC feed of the opening ceremony in 720p. The piratebay right now is just a mess. There are so many copies but either they are from crappy feeds (eurosport/NBC) or are crappy encodes or watermarked. Nobody just has a nice 720p full BBC version! |

Yikes! The 1080 is 28.51 GiB. I think I'll hold out another day or two and hope for a 720 scene release of the bbc feed. |

^ Good luck with that. The only Scene release for anything Olympics-related so far are from 2HD (Canadian feed) and "OLYMPIANS", "BALLS", and "WHEELS" (all Eurosport feed). My guess would be that the latter three constitute a single release group using several different labels. If any of the British groups could be bothered to take on the Olympian task (pun intended) of capping an event of this sort, you'd think they'd have got under way by now...  FYI, as far as I'm aware live broadcasts on British TV are primarily released via http://thebox.bz , which is not affiliated with the Scene. |

The blurb on the show page is descriptively misleading: "the Games of the XXX Olympiad". I suspect the XXX Olympiad would have met less resistance from the British public! |

So I made an account there and it was disabled immediately (don't like disposable email, maybe?). So, just another annoying private site I guess, not worth my time. I get enough of that control-freak bullshit from official sources. If I had that 28.51 GiB release on my drive here I'd do the world a favour by down-sampling it to 720p x264 and release it myself (not going to happen though with my weak connection). |

By now, there are not one but two of the Scene releases Ferry was waiting for: 2012-07-29 - 16:00:38 - London.2012.BBC.Olympic.Opening.Ceremony.HDTV.x264-ANGELiC ~ 3GB 2012-07-29 - 15:47:12 - London.2012.BBC.Olympic.Opening.Ceremony.720p.HDTV.x264-ANGELiC ~ 9GB 2012-07-29 - 12:25:46 - London.2012.Olympics.Opening.Ceremony.BBC.Broadcast.PDTV.x264-W4F ~ 3GB So, contrary to what I assumed, they really were just a bit slow off the marks. Good thing I'm not competing in the Olympic Guessing event.  ETA: The 720p is up at TPB, the two SDs are so far only available via non-torrent means. |
