Believe me, I wish I could seed 2 or 3x what I download, and I surely would if I could - but I have a 2mbit down and 1/4mbit upload, and considering the fact that I download several shows per week it'd be physically impossible for me to seed so much. Also I'm on a shared connection here at home with 2 other machines, so during the day I have to limit my upload speed to not slow it down for everyone, so during the day I can only generally upload at around 16-20kbps, only during the night can I let it go full speed, which even then is only to 32-34kbps max. As it is now I *always* leave my download in uTorrent until they have reached 1:1, because then I've at least shared back what I got. If I had a faster connection I'd gladly share much, much more. As it is I record UK TV stuff sometimes and share it somewhere else, so it can take me a whole day, even at full speed, to fully seed a 500-700mb recording. I'm not sure where you are though, but here in the UK most broadband connections have this sort of upload speed. Even the 10mbit packages tend to only have 384kbit upload speed. |

i think thats taking it to the extreme, what exactly do you see as a crap upload speed? because anything 40+ is rather good... about 4-8 hours to upload a 40min show, i think, im lousy at maths thats not a huge dedication... and thats not counting the hour/s you take to download it that said, i must say im not a good boy... i leave my client running over night, since i live in the uk, since i use rss, then when i get home from work i cancel seeding and watch and i dont have a very fast connection so, my uploading tends to slow access to the web... however i am upgrading to cable next week, hopefully ill be one of the good boys then but i suppose, every little helps |

I have a 256kbit upload, so at absolute fastest I can upload maybe 100mb per hour - now considering I have to limit that to half during the day it'd take me about 7 hours to get back 1:1 on a standard 350mb show - now consider if I have 2 or 3 of these, as I often do, and also have 700mb ones instead, or even 1.1gb in some cases - all at once. It can take me days of leaving it running all the time to seed 1:1, with the limited speed in the day and full-speed for a few hours at night. Downloading is fine. I managed to get the 1.1gb 720p of Lost today in 5 hours, with a download limit set at 150kbps (it rarely hit that) but I'm still seeding it now, 7 hours later, and my ratio is 0.535 for it. Hopefully I'll get 1:1 overnight, then it starts again when I download more tomorrow. Just thought I'd say now at the end of this that I'm not saying that I hate sharing, I'm just pissed off at the terrible upload speeds we have to put up with in this country. |

Is there something missing at the end of this version? It seems to end abruptly without resolution of the story. Also the lower res version is about a minute longer. |
