I think that will blow clarks brain knowing he is not the only Super human. When
id that guy going to dawn his suit and fight for real? I figure with his mom
being a senator, that she might call on Clark to fix some disasters up, them
bam, Superman, but he will where a cowl so no one knows who he is, like Bat Man.

SPOILERS AHEAD********

Supergirl will be flying into the cast of Smallville later this year, the CW
has announced.

The show’s executive producer Al Gough heralded the new arrival, stating: "One
of the joys of creating Smallville has been our ability to reinvent and
reinterpret classic DC Comics characters… and I believe that Supergirl will
give our series the mythic jolt that it needs."

Casting is currently underway for the role, but details of her character have
been revealed by CW. Supergirl will take the form of a 19-year-old called Kara
who, unlike Clark Kent, already has the ability to fly. She is also set to
fall for the charms of Jimmy Olsen.

I think Clark needs to learn some things before he actually dons the cape to
become Superman.

First, he needs to learn to fly heh. Also, I don't think he learned the ice
breath yet.. I may be mistaken about that I'm not entirely sure.

Another thing that I'm curious too. If he dons the cape and becomes Superman,
what's he gonna do to mask his identity? Is he gonna wear a mask in this
interpretation? Cuz in the original series/comics/movie, he wore glasses as
Clark Kent and took them off as Superman. It'd be interesting what the writers
do with this.

That's why I still maintain, Clark won't turn into Superman in this one.
Perhaps in the spinoff, they'll completely change the story where Clark
actually has been wearing glasses up to this point and can finally become
Superman in line with the original. We'll see I guess.

what'd you expect? if Clark learned everything early on.. then you might as
well just watch the lois & clark series or the older superboy series.

been there done that =P

that being said, i think smallville will survive one less viewer.

As I understand it from the friend who originally got me watching this, there
was a "no flights, no tights" agreement, in order to secure the rights to the
names of the characters.

Apparently there were fairly extensive negotiations just the be allowed to have
Clark fly up to Lex's plane, which was at the start of Season 5 I.I.R.C.

Wow what a original idea, if your show starts dragging in the ratings put a
young girl in tight or skimpy outfits into the mix, i love these new concepts.
