I sure as hell hope they don't have all that damn pathetic smoking on this
episode as they did on the premier

Oh dear.

And was the damn pathetic sexism bothering you at all?

It's the damn pathetic PC comments that bother me the mostest!! This IS set in
the 50s after all.

I rather like it (is that an untrendy thing to say?) It does makes me cringe but
this is probably how men and women did behave then in the big smoke. It's
intriguing.

I loved the first episode. The way men were interracting with women, amazing. As for the smoking, well
the big clients are the cigarette\'s company. The funny think is the news that I just read, about disney
forbidding any cigarette in its film ...

so wtf do you expect them to do with a show placed in a time were smoking was
VERY popular?and the main characters help tabaco companies....they thought
smoking was good for you.

its like asking a show based on nasa not to show space......

I smoked for many years, its a nasty habit, ive since quit. but as tv guy said
u really couldnt do this show without it. what, should everyone just
substitute lolipops for cigarettes to be more PC?

This is a great show. Thanks for the up, but I note that there's a significant
plunge in video quality from the 1st episode to this one.

Was the 1st from an HD source and this one from normal TV?

The production design and cinematography on this show is so good that I'd really
like to see the highest quality rip possible.

I agree with owlnation... the plot for that one was boring... the little family
story and his wife's problem were beyond boring. I was thinking they'd use the
opportunity to go deeper in the Leave it to Beaver cliche of family life they
had back then but instead they spent half the episode on the wife's health
issues... zzzzzz...

hope it picks up next week, the premiere was fantastic.

As for the smoking, I think it's really meant to be overdone to show you what it
was like back then and how things have changed.

I would be hard to overdo it. Back then something like 70 to 80 percent of
adult men and women smoked. there was no stigma attached to being a smoker.

i love the first episode and the way it takes you in an other time like a time
machine. After watching it, i had a the feeling of coming back. It remind me of
those old movies, cary grant in mr bleeding builds his dream house or Jacques
Tati etc. Great job anyway.
