just watched it, and its pretty similar to the movie plot. dont get me wrong, I love the show but this season they seem to be lifting whole plots or bits and pieces from previous scifi shows and movies. The show is great regardless, but I wish they would come up with more original scripts. |

Yeh I agree the scripts have become a bit lazy, still enjoy it, but it is a bit predictable nowadays. |

I also like the show but feel it is losing it's edge as a scf fi serial and increasingly just seems to be using sci fi as a prop for an otherwise mediocre soap. The stories are getting sloppy and predictable. As they seem to be narrowing the focus on charachters it's becoming a little claustrophobic. I can't help but keep wondering why they keep calling the sheriff. Global Dynamics is the most advanced cutting edge defence contractor with like no security? Where or even who is their chief of security? Why when something occurs is Carter the 1rst responder? Where is security in a DOD facility? How many times can Henry really comprehend some new heretofore unknown technology and then find a solution? I'm also more than a little bit bored by the predictable political correctness... |

Ive been wondering the same thing. guess it kinda has to be that way for the show to work how it is. I like the show, I just wish they would have stepped up the writing more this season. |

'kinda has to be that way for the show to work' I think it is a budget thing they are compressing everything reducing the original panorama of the shows ensemble. A chief of security if they created a good character would not only make it more believable but would provide some good plot tension. |

well maybe, but the premise of the show from ep1 was the sherrif holding the town together, averting GD disasters, etc. etc. not really believable. |

A good point about the original sheriff. Stark originally seemed to play at the natural antagonism of trying to protect GD secrets vs the public need to know, i.e. Sheriff Carter. However this plot line is got lost in the ambiguities of his character and the antagonism seems to be now more the nature of a competition for the affections of Allyson. |
