Interesting way to deal with Patinkin, though it probably hurt the episode
itself as you could easily tell which scenes were forced in, and the narration
basically runs right into dialogue.

How is that a spoiler? Everyone knows the situation with Patinkin, as well
as this episode, that follows the show. (It was the one pulled from last season
because of the VT shootings, rewritten to explain Patinkin's freak out.)

What a depressing show, completely void of any rational explanation of the
criminal acts and why they're happening. This show is taking itself so seriously
that it becomes so overbearing with the constant attempts to psychoanalyze even
the most trivial event that's happening on the show and always in the worst way
possible. How did it make it so many episodes? Amazing.

Patinkin unfortunately was central to the show as a trusted mentor figure and
the character trait of him being a lateral thinker due to his experience is
going to be hard to replicate. A new central charater is required and will need
at least a couple of eps to be invested sufficiently to replace patinkin.
Undoubtedly the shows dynamic will change but it still has excellent potential.
As far as the comment above goes, I have to say it is at least partially true,
profiling is a soft science not a sure shot as this show renders it. In saying
that the same is true of hard science shows such as CSI and Bones which are
ridiculous in the imagined precision of their scientific methodology. The thing
to remember is that these are shows about characters not the science involved.
As far as spoilers are concerned it always irritates me that people read posts
before watching an ep... why? Technical concerns? your gonna download it anyway
so what's the point.
