This show is, without a doubt, the best advertisement for not allowing Americans to remake classic British comedy programs. Gervais' original offering was brilliant and combined subtlety and the bloody obvious to capture the "typical" office environment perfectly. I managed to force myself to sit through two episodes of the American remake and was completely horrified with the butchery they performed to it. To think that they have continued to make a fourth season (and that there are tastless clowns out there watching it) saddens me. The Yanks should stick to what they are good at - Crime and Drama - leave the comedy to the Brits and Aussies. |

I just watched the first season of the original UK Office. I found it quite funny but preferred the American offering. I'm Canadian, and although Ricky Gervais is quite funny, I found it harder to picture him as a boss I could actually have, whereas Steve Carell was more a realistic boss in a North American workplace. It's still funny, but not as relevant to life over here. (At least in my mind) |

Different cultures, different tastes. Things like music and TV are very subjective to the point that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder and why I (and I see others here also) disagree with you. What "saddens me" is you obviously do not see the bigger picture |

um, if u only watched the first 2 eps of the yank version, of course you would think US office is crap. The first handfull of eps of the yank version are pretty much poorly done rip offs of the UK series, but since then the US version has become by far the superior show. I was a big fan of the original UK series, but the US version is simply way bigger in scope, character development, and laughs. |

LOL I didn't realise us Aussies were funny! I'm Australian and I think the US version is hilarious! I find myself cringing watching Steve Carell play such a bumbling idiot (which he pulls off brilliantly i might add!) Personally I can't stand British TV but from few episodes I saw the UK (original) version was quite funny also! I agree it depends where you come from bet a lot of people don't like Aussie TV especially since there is obviously more valued TV coming from the US. |

Was this show converted by the network permanently into a 60 minute show? The first four episodes of the season have all been 350MB ~45m releases, whereas the previous three seasons have all been 20min episodes. |
