The British version of the show was much better. They seem to have simultaniously made it nicer and meaner. Gordon yells more but then it's all kissy lovey at the end. And too many times they don't bother to go back to the restaurant. The revisit after a few months really capped the show off and let you know if the place really got the idea and improved. Not having the revisit ruines it for me. |

Meh I kinda like how they made this one all glitzy, they obviously have a much larger budget for the USA verison since they pratcially give the owners either a new kitchen or a complete overhaul to the seating area's. hopefully he does some more episodes for the UK version too cause its better for sure, but I get to see gordon yelling at idiots in either version so it's all good  |

Yeah.. Its like 2 different shows. I liked the uk version alot. It seemed less frantic and more down to earth. The US version is obviously VERY american and some things about it feels kinda "fake". Still its good fun watching Gordon yell at dumb people  And jesus all of those people/restaurants on the show so far have been just terrible in one way or the other... I also miss the revisit part Btw, why havent there been any new episodes added the last 2-3 weeks? |

I also like both versions. Just one thing to note, the UK episodes when originally aired without the revisits. It seems that they recut each episode later to include Gordon's revisit. So there is hope that perhaps in between this season and next, that we could see some revisits. |

...about the revisits..there were revisits in ALL the uk shows..even season one when first broadcast....the revisits were between one and 3 months later...they later did "kitchen nightmares revisited" which was basically a re- run with an extra revisit 6 months to a year later...it seems to me that Gordon was only in USA for a limited time and probably knocked out season one in 2 or 3 months and went back to UK whereas in the UK version he was able to personally revisit every establishment as he lives there. There is definitely a more feel good factor to the american version but what annoys me the most is the bleeping on both this and hells kitchen...seems strange that drama's like soprano's go out in tact and yet on these shows its censored! Anyone know where i can get the un-censored versions? I've watched a few of the USA ones uncensored so they i know they have at one time been broadcast in tact or perhaps i was watching the USA version being creened in UK or Australia?? |
