I don't exactly when the US drama shows would normally go on their break but
it looks like quite a few won't even make it that far and the ones that do
won't be back for long. Is there any hint the two sides are going to start
talking again?

If there was, you'll probably hear about here first.

I'm pissed about Real Time and SNL. I also never knew that TV was done on such a
short basis; I always thought episodes were shot a little further in advance.
Post-December, things will start getting funky.

Anyone have any idea of how many L&O: Criminal Intent episodes got finished
before the strike or scripts they have available for production? What about
Moonlight?

It used to be the case that they were finished much more in advance, but
current network policies regarding season pick ups and constant shifts in
scheduling, particularly of new series, slow down production significantly. On
top of that you have a general lack of efficiency combined with longer times in
post production due to modern effects and what not. Overall though you can
really see which shows are on the ball and which aren't with the strike.

Anyone have info on the show How I Met Your Mother, on cbs?

Also Dexter on Showtime?

Will this season, if it ends short bother to release dvds? and do you call it a
season when it's about 11 eps short of a full one? Or do they continue again
next fall with part 2 of this season.. kinda been wondering..

If you look at the various episodes left threads they do say that Dexter was
scheduled for 12 episodes and they are all filmed. Chuck will have thirteen
episodes out of a possible 22 if it had a full season pickup, which it
probably would have gotten but for the strike.

this is bad, WTF do the production companies think they are doing, i would
think they stand to lose more money by not paying the writers the the money
they deserve. oh well at least i have got a full season of SGA to watch!
