"who also happens to be the inventor of kitt"

Didn't the "inventor of KITT" die in the very first episode of knight rider?

Yes.. Wilton Knight did die and he was originally the inventor of Kitt.. but
you know how these studios work. they don't give a toss about continuity or the
loyalty of older fans.. it's always all about the new viewer.

...and what about Hasselhoff may get a cameo????

It CAN'T be Knight Rider with out "The Hoff" and Kitt..and it's NOT
going to be Kitt either (or William Daniels for that matter), it's going to be
some halfassed bastardisation of a talking car (and we'll be lucky if it DOES
talk 'cos they didn't want it to!) and The Transformers.. LAME!!

Can this really be as good as we remember it was? Looking at old eps it
doesn't take a genius to know that the old show wouldn't make it nowadays.

So even if they spice it up a bit I doubt it will be as good as it once was (I
liked it very much THEN).
I'm thinking it will be the same quality as for instance Painkiller Jane.

I was informed from an inside source not only does the Hoff have a cameo in the
film, he also insisted on writing his own dialog!

And KITT is now a Ford Cobra (Mustang SVT) in case anyone is wondering, voiced
by Cedric the Entertainer. I'm assuming Cedric is the studio's attempt at
"spicing it up a bit."

And now we play the waiting game...

The three cars to be employed in the series include the KITT Hero -- a Ford
Mustang Shelby GT500KR
that is playing the part of the everyday Hero car
with 540 horsepower; the KITT Attack -- a super high-speed version of the
Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR
Hero car that transforms into Attack mode with
the help of air-ride technology and specialized body parts -- and a KITT
Remote, which is a driverless Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR version of
the Hero vehicle.

Could someone clarify this please...
I know nothing about cars, so is the same or diff??
TIA

If you're asking if the car used in the remake is the same as the original KITT,
the answer is NO.

The original KITT was a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am (I believe with a slight cosmetic
alteration to the front end compared to a factory Trans Am).

Now as for the new KITT: A Shelby GT 500 and a Cobra are the same thing. It's
just a factory modified Mustang with more powerful guts, and all of those lame
little horsey logos on the car have been replaced with bad ass cobras. (All
gear heads and grease monkeys spare me your technical knowledge here). If you
want more info just google shelby mustang, there is plenty out there.

The only similarities between the original KITT and the new KITT is that they
are both a sexy, sleek all black.

I agree vi76. But I'll reserve final judgement after I actually watch a few
eps when it comes out. But my pre-initial thoughts are that it will bomb.

Hostilemf... there's nothing whatsoever "sleek" about the new KITT.. it's a
block on wheels.

*Wanders off to check on Coral and ToteSport to see the odds on Hasslehoff
managing to NOT look like a swollen up ol' LUSH in the film*

It's personal peference mate, I've seen pictures of the new KITT and I think
it looks great. If they kept KITT the same as the 1980's version, then "Mike
Tracer" would look like Billy Madison when he goes back to high school...

Some other news, acording the Knight Rider IMDB page, WILL ARNETT is now
listed as the voice of KITT! WOOOOOOO!

I'm just waiting for them to start trying to capitalize off Will
Arnett's "Arrested Development" fame...no more "Hello Mike"

It will just be replaced with his patented "MICHAEL!"
