Yeah, he's not as good. But, Colbert is still great, IMO. I just like Colbert more, and find myself laughing a lot. |

Since he was (a) always in favour of the strike, and (b) never a guy of (too much ;-) vanity, I wouldn't be too surprised if that's exactely the point he's trying to make. I tried to stay up to date with the 'presidental race' over here in europe using the 'proper channels' (CNN, ...) -- forget it. Finding some kind of picture amid all the crap is impossible. I'm very happy that he's back -- even with his engine running only on one or two cylinders... ;-) |

I have to agree with you. I've never watched this show for uncontrollable laughter fits, but more for an entertaining and alternative view of politics and world events. As you pointed, Jon seems to consciously make a point about not being funny without writers. Nevertheless this show manages to entertain and amuse me, no matter how akward and writerless the action may at times be. I also have to agree with the point made about Colbert Report. To me, the show has seemed to be at least as funny, if not even more entertaining than in the good old pre-strike times. Thanks once again for the upload and keep these two wonderful shows coming. |

Colbert has a lot less "news"-content than the Daily Show though, interviews take up most of the time in his show now without the writers. It's easier for him to still be funny than Stewart because of that. [btw. I think both of them are strike breakers] |

A Daily Show is funny enough, but I'll be really glad to get back to normal when the strike is over. Jon's plenty funny in his own right, but comedians are each an acquired taste. As others have pointed out, Colbert's doing more interviews because they allow for improvisation which allows him to stay in character and produce content without it being written. As for them being strike breakers ... there's a certain degree of writing happening on the shows, I'll agree. But the writing seems to be of the nature "Make a funny graphic of X Y and Z doing A B and C and I'll say something funny to go with it". It's not necessarily *writing* per se, but *planning*. It's a fine line, I think Stewart and Colbert are both walking the line but not crossing it. As I understand, the "decision" for the shows to come back was more of a direction from Viacom, in the face of the other late night chat shows coming back a week earlier. They could have said no, but then they'd have either been out of a job, or would have watched guest hosts destroy the shows. It's clear that they both appreciate their writers and want them back on the job. So where's today's Colbert Report, dammit |

The presidential election is more important than the writers strike, and stewart and colbert are pretty much the only ones pointing out a lot of the bullshit in the campaign that the news channels eat up without question. While they say they are fake news shows, even their level of analysis is often far superior to that of "real" news, and therefore it should be perfectly acceptable for them to have a journalistic exemption from the strike. |

"I suck at many kinds of Comedy" Jon Stewart on this very show. The best thing about A daily show is the fact that not only you know it's not as good as THE daily show, they know it too. And hopefully so does the AMPATAMPABAY. If you compare before and after, it's clearly not as good. BUT, it is a good substitute while we don't have it. |

The EZTV link works, but if you have an ad blocker active you will have to fiddle with it to get it to download. The mininova link was dead most of the day. Personally I think EZTV is trying to get us to go through it's ad links so they can make more money, fine and dandy I can understand that, but the more annoying the forced ads are, the less I will use EZTV. My computer got seriously bogged down blocking thier ads, so I went to other sources to get my fix. How many times do I really need to see that stupid poker ad, I don't play poker online or anywhere else and will not no matter how often I see that thing. |

I might ad, I usually download Colbert and Daily show here rather than watching it on TV. But after yesterday's fiasco I decided last night to record it instead, I only get two TV stations here, thankfully those shows happen to be on one. |

All I use is the google toolbar to block pop ups, which I disabled and neither of the links worked. If it is some kind of "look at the ads" thing then it's the first problem I've had. A few sites have just randomly not loaded ads for me. Oh well, I'll just do without Mondays (bizarre it wasn't anywhere else...) |
