I'm sorry about this, but it must be said. This is a show created by Canadians for Canadians, and as a proud U.S. citizen, I surely hope the Canadian government doesn't really bow and scrape to the U.S. in the way it is portrayed in this show. I just can't believe any self respecting agent of any sovereign nation would abdicate power on it's own soil the way the actors in this show do. If I was a Canadian I'd be upset, whether it was true or not. In fact more so if it is true. I realize that a large portion of the citizens of the U.S. see Canada as it's kid brother, just another territory like Puerto Rico. I do not, and can't really abide that attitude. Having said that is this show funded by someone or some company in the U.S.? Keep in mind these are just my opinions, and for some reason watching this show rubs me the wrong way. It really looked like it had some potential, and I hoped he would eventually tell her to shut the hell up and get out, but it's not to be. I'm done with this show, it's just plain demeaning to a country that I've always enjoyed. --- Thanks, Jim |

Having lived on both sides of the border, I would say that it's not entirely unrepresentative of how cross-border power struggles seem to play out, at least when it comes to trade issues. That's perhaps an unfortunate consequence of being the smaller of the two nations. Still, I'd be quite surprised if DHS agents make themselves at home in any real-life Canadian law enforcement offices. |
