Good to see the HDTV versions back up, those other ones were really poor quality in comparison. |

I have about 4 HDTV episodes from BiA and IMO they're much WORSE than the PDTV releases from RiVER & ANGELiC. The BiA releases are too bright & the colours are washed out. BiA just don't seem to be able to encode anything properly, their so-called "HDTV" releases of The 4400 were appalling. |

Check your TV settings, the HDTV ones were fine on mine. The PDTV ones looked so bad that they almost made me physically sick from watching the kaleidoscope of giant pixels dancing around my LCD. |

Gordonbenett, I disagree . . . to the point of wondering whether you're even watching the same thing as everyone else. =| The PDTV rips by RiVER and ANGELiC have been just that; PDTV rips. They have the same quality as other PDTV rips of other shows, where the images/pixels are blurred together to look as best as possible. Seriously, they are blurred. What's more, the effect makes the PDTV "brighter" . . . it certaintly contrasts more than the HDTV rips, so I'm at a loss for why you think the HDTV rips are brighter. Actually, your description of the HDTV rips of "bright & the colours are washed out" fit the PDTV rips MUCH better . . . the colours are basically all running into each other like a bad dye. The HDTV rips are VASTLY superior. I've even just skimmed through a couple of the PDTV releases of Skins and the HDTV releases to compare; not surprisingly, BiA's HDTV rip wins HANDS DOWN. Maybe you don't like things to be shown in high def? In the HDTV releases I can clearly see Jal's pimples and the indents in people's complexions, for example, whereas in the PDTV ones . . . not so much; they're all blurred as aforementioned. By the way, I think BiA is actually one of the better quality ripping groups, so it's even more odd for someone to consider other PDTV rips better than BiA's HDTV rips. =| My two cents. |

Besides BiAs HDTV picture quality (which I too thought was amazing, obviously) to over quality of the rip was very well done. There was no jarring entries or exits from the ads, none of the openings are ever missing, the shows are always complete (unlike XOR who segment their encoding so entire minutes of the show go missing) and BiA kindly leave the credits in so we can actually see the actors, see what's happening in next weeks show and see who the production companies and stuff were. The HDTV rips are some of the best you can possibly get on the internet, so I do not understand what your issue is with them at all. |

The BiA x264 version is Fantastic! I use an LCD projector and view it at 8 foot wide ... it's perfect. The HDTV XviD isn't bad either but if you really want to see stunning go find Skins.S02E08.720p.HDTV.x264-BiA |

Sadly my XBMC can't handle live action 720p though, but real people = unwatchable |

you are watching it with an XBOX? That might be your problem. To tell the truth the PDTV version looks VERY nice on my 42" Plasma TV played through my Quad Core Media PC and MPC. So I did fail to understand all the fuss about it. |

PDTV version looks just as bad on my BenQ widescreen monitor and on my friends projector. I think you have it backwards, you are mixing up the PDTV one with the HDTV ones. |

nope no mix as I did not care much to get the HDTV ones since the PDTV ones look pretty good. And have been doing this for enough time to avoid such beginners mistake |
