"America's Got Talent" (also known as AGT or Got Talent) is an American reality television series on the NBC television network, and part of the global British Got Talent franchise. It is a talent show that features singers, dancers, magicians, comedians, and other performers of all ages competing for the advertised top prize of $1 million. The show debuted in June 2006 for the summer television season. From season 3 onwards, the prize included $1 million, payable in a financial annuity over 40 years (or the present cash value of such annuity), and a show as the headliner on the Las Vegas Strip.

After six seasons on the show, Sharon Osbourne has left the show with Melanie Brown (Spice Girls - Mel B) replacing her. This will also be the first season of the series where there will be four judges on the panel, as Heidi Klum will be the new fourth judge.
America's Got Talent will be shooting their live shows from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, after moving from the New Jersey Performing Arts Center last year.

This season will be the first season without judge Piers Morgan. He will be replaced by radio personality Howard Stern, as announced on his Sirius XM radio show on December 15, 2011. Because of Stern's commitments to his radio program, the show will also move to New York City. In April 2012, it was announced that the 2012 season's production would take place at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark.
Simon Cowell, the show's executive producer, also announced on The New York Post in December 2011 that the show will be a receiving a "top-to-bottom makeover", confirming that there will be new graphics, lighting, theme music and a larger live audience. He also expects current judges Osbourne and Mandel, in addition to host Nick Cannon, to continue for the seventh season.
