The show was created and is hosted by talk-show host and model Tyra Banks, who also serves as the head judge and executive producer of the show. America's Next Top Model (often abbreviated as ANTM) is a reality television show in which a number of women compete for the title of America's Next Top Model and a chance to start their career in the modeling industry.
Advertisers pay $61,315 per 30 second slot during the 2011-12 television season, the highest of any series on The CW.
Cycle 18, "America's Next Top Model: British Invasion", will feature fourteen models, including 7 returning models from the United Kingdom, who competed previously in cycles of Britain's Next Top Model and 7 all-new American model hopefuls.
The prizes for this cycle are a modeling contract with LA/NY Models, a chance to be a guest correspondent on the hit news magazine Extra, a fashion spread in Vogue Italia and the cover and spread in Beauty In Vogue, the face of America's Next Top Model perfume Dream Come True, a single to be released with CBS Records, and a $100,000 (USD) contract with CoverGirl cosmetics.
The Express fashion campaign (present in the last Cycle) has been removed.
Fashion public relations maven Kelly Cutrone replaced Vogue editor Andre Leon Talley. The rest of the judging panel remains the same.
The promotional song for this cycle is, "Engerland (Fabio The Daddyo)" by Blues Saraceno.
This is the first American edition of Top Model to be filmed and broadcast in high definition.
