More 'Practice' Is Perfect for ABC Kirsties Handmade Christmas Login to vote
Addison Montgomery's search for that miracle will go on a little bit longer.

ABC has picked up a full season of its new series "Private Practice," the "Grey's Anatomy" spinoff that follows neonatal surgeon Addison (Kate Walsh) to Los Angeles, where she joins an unconventional medical group and seeks a complete life for herself.

The show joins The CW's "Gossip Girl" and CBS' "Big Bang Theory" as the only freshman series thus far to earn full-season orders.

The pickup isn't a huge surprise. While it hasn't reached the ratings heights of its predecessor, "Private Practice" is the most-watched new show of the season, averaging around 13 million viewers per week over its first four airings.

It's also the top newcomer in the adults 18-49 demographic that advertisers covet, earning a 4.9 rating among those viewers so far. It's also won its timeslot in the demo in three of its four weeks on the air (NBC's "Bionic Woman" beat it during premiere week).

"Private Practice" also stars Audra McDonald, Taye Diggs, Tim Daly, Amy Brenneman, Paul Adelstein, KaDee Strickland and Chris Lowell. "Grey's" creator Shonda Rhimes and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" veteran Marti Noxon are among its executive producers.
