Yesterday there was official season "wrap-up party" in one of the pubs downtown Toronto. As the season production came to completion, there are few unexpected news that came out during the party (unofficially of course). * SPOILER WARNING * The last episodes of the season were extensively rewritten, and although the season ends with a hook that may lead to yet another season of ReGenesis, it was also prepared to leave the show with bad ending as is - where everyone simply died during the viral outbreak in the lab. * SPOILER END * We've seen in the previous season's ending that when the explosion took down Norbac, most of the cast 'survived' to the next seasons. No such luck this time, most likely. Main news that leaked out during the wrap party is, unfortunately, this was the last season of the show made. The recurring show directors were told to not to count on any more contracts from Shaftesbury Film (show's producing company). And let's not forget: there was ongoing financial dispute among show's leading actors that hasn't been resolved after all, and the main lead Peter Outerbridge wants to get out of his binding 5-year-long ReGenesis contract to pursue other projects too.
