Shark's Sophina Brown promoted to series regular on Numb3rs So You Think You Can Dance Login to vote
Looks like Sophina Brown passed CBS' Numb3rs test. The killer Shark actress has been promoted to a full-fledged series regular, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Per her initial contract, Brown (who succeeds Diane Farr as the show's female lead) was only committed to appearing in this season's first three episodes. CBS, however, had an option to make her a regular -- an option the net wasted no time exercising after seeing her in action as agent Nikki Betancourt, a former LAPD officer who doesn't exactly see eye-to-eye with Don (Rob Morrow).

"Sophina brings a brand new voice to the show," says Numb3rs exec producer Ken Sanzel. "She captures Nikki's grit, humor, and fresh perspective on not only Charlie's role with the FBI, but the FBI itself.

"From the day she came in and auditioned, she owned the character," adds Sanzel, himself a former 5.0. "It's hard for an actor to convince an ex-cop that she's an ex-cop. Sophina convinced me."

Brown will make her debut in Numb3rs' Oct. 3 season premiere, where her first order of business will be trading hair care tips with David Krumholtz.
